All the Vortech kits you guys are selling for the FRS/BRZ work on the AT, am i right ? 'cause i just bought a stage one kit from a vendor here in Cali but I forgot to ask if it works on my AT ). And do I need any other mods to support the kit to keep the car from breaking ? I am planning to keep this car for a while with a little more power. Thank you everyone.

FYI I noticed a few guys reporting a leaky windshield washer reservoir.

The trick is to not over tighten the bottom cap and make sure that the gasket stays centered as you tighten it. You can look through the top opening as you tighten it to make sure it remains centered. If it starts to bunch up, redo it and stop before it does it again.

I didn't need to seal the cap with anything extra and its holding nicely.

I'm sure it is buried some where, but I have yet to find it... but how much weight does the Vortech kit add to the front end as compared to stock?

Mine leaks from the top tube when you start to fill the tank and fluid gets to the neck tube you hack off from the stock reservoir. I tried to adjust tension on clamps etc. etc. still leaks.

The systems will mount right up to an Automatic without issue, but we have not released our tuning for the automatics yet. If you bought a Tuner kit, you'll either be sourcing a tune from the tuner you bought the system from, or a local shop. If you bought the complete system, you will have to source a tune separately. We should have our Automatic calibration done in a few months.

I have the vortech kit on my car. I'm just saying $200 is too much money just to change the way the "pssshhhhh" sounds.

Aluminum with no diaphragm construction over plastic was another perk.

I was just putting the info out there in case others were thinking about it.

For me and the turbosmart BoV when redlining 3rd to 4th to 5th there is a satisfying "keesh" loud air release. But the engine and boosted exhaust note are better than any "pssh" squeal.

Hopefully this is the right thread for this.
As a boostnoob (boooob?) I was wondering why people like the roots style, lower rpm torque peak boosts?
The stock model hits peak torque at 6600 so wouldnt it make sense to keep boost peak as close to that as possible?

You want the 25mm version.

It is a dual port, so you can retain the K&N filter on the dump port. Both ports are the same 1" as the plastic bosch unit. It simply replaces the bosch unit retaining the factory hose/K&N filter.

For those who will argue that this may suck in un-filtered air through the "horn" port, the supercharger produces more airflow than the engine can ingest even at idle. Also, this valve only fully opens to dump air out of the "noisy" horn at high intake manifold vacuum/positive pressure in the charge pipe. Otherwise it only vents to the dump port with your K&N filter.

This results in a valve that operates pretty much exactly like the included plastic bosch valve, however at moderate/high boost it produces a nice deep "whoosh" sound like a traditional BOV.

You can also block off the "horn" with the included blocking plate, then it will work exactly like the plastic bypass valve without any noise.

Unnecessary? Probably.
But it is fun, and I prefer aluminum over plastic.

Perhaps Vortech can chime in if this is a bad idea, but I'm familiar with boost and this seems solid in operating theory with no chance of unfiltered air entering the system(My main concern).

dope! what does it sound like?!? this basically a pull out the old put in the new deal?

Does this Vortech SC makes the exhaust any louder. My TRD exhaust is perfect as it is now.

It'll be a bit louder at wide open throttle, of course. At any point where you're not making more power than before, the exhaust won't be louder. (cruise)
