I'm sure it's been said but age isn't the factor entirely. When buying a light weight rwd sports car for a daily you need to consider this. Are you responsible enough to shrug off some yahoo that wants to race you at a red light. Also if you do get one LEAVE THE TRACTION CONTOL ALONE. V.v turn it off on the track or at an auto cross.... These cars are so much fun to just tool around in. I get a kick at all the people speeding up to look at the car or try to race me.

Dude that's awesome! My taco is 1800 a year! You mind me asking what state you live and if you've got any benefits for insurance?

I hate the way they look and it's still a focus. Not a fan of american made cars.

Finally someone that is actually reasonable. I will be tracking the car probably 4 times a year.

You can't just ask "how much do you pay." You can, but you have no idea what their deductibles are, what their liability coverage limits are, what discounts they get, etc. Not exactly a good yardstick to use.

Yeah, that's what I was trying to ask but I didn't figure he knew most of that, I don't either haha.

Not only do insurance rates vary St to St, they vary from zip code to zip code.
No way we can give reliable info about that.

Check multiple providers, not only one or two.

So I was just offered an FR-S at dealer invoice and that plan that gives you free windshield repairs, wheel and tire road hazard, and paintless dent repair for free.

I'd rather pay more then give any money to that dealership.

Stay away from Toyota/Scion Escondido.

Just be responsible and do everything in your power to amass as many insurance discounts as possible...coming from an 18 year old

A lot will go into the calculation of premium. I work in auto insurance claims.

They'll look at driving record, crime in your zip code, weather history in your zip code, your credit score, how new the car is, theft data on the car if available, it's a whole lot.

Just go to multiple carriers. Ask about every discount. All of them. You'll find a good rate, just make sure you have good coverage that is unrestricted as possible.

Does it define it? No. Is there correlation? Yes.

This 100 times. I don't know what it is, but I can't stand the thought of walking out to my driveway every morning and thinking "damn, I drive an ugly car." Then again, I abhor hatchbacks in general
