The tips are made from mild steel with a stainless coating and no doubt would begin to rust. Pekingduck is 100% correct about the lines. DCSports highend stuff comes from USA / Taiwan, where as the tips and some cheaper pieces are made in China.

The exhausts are made from 304ss except at the flanges which I believe is 409ss (409ss will develop surface rust, but not rust thru), the headers are mild steel. The surface rust can be prevented by following the prep instructions that come with the exhaust.

That a helmholzt piping to prevent droning. It great if you decide to run straight pipe and prevent it from sounding odd. I find the sound to be consistent even when the cat remove.

Having listened to dozens of youtube sound clips I've come to the conclusion that I much prefer the sound quality that comes from split muffler systems (ie. Greddy Evo3, Invidia N1) rather than the single tank versions (Invidia Q300, Perrin, most others).

The problem with the dual muffler designs is that they seem to suffer from the dreaded "drone". In addition, they are normally very loud.

With that in mind, I'm wondering if the design of the DC Sports piece might just fix this. Note the "helmholz resonator" in the center. I wonder if they were able to use that to tune out that drone sounds that seems to hit in the 3-4k rpm range with the Greddy/Invidia systems. I can't wait to hear a sound clip. I'm getting impatient.. we have multiple venders who say they have them for sale, but nobody has hooked one up and tested it.

Anyone have any thoughts on this system?

You have to like the sub $650 price point.

By the way. I also really like the fact that they took the extra energy to go around the rear diff rather than under it (Agency Power). I would never buy an exhaust that hangs that low under the car. What a lazy design.

I've run this exhaust cat-back without an over pipe or front pipe(cat delete) and it sounded great. Very deep tone, not too loud, zero rasp, and absolutely NO DRONE at cruising speeds. It was almost too quiet for me. If you have an intake it'll really come alive. It balances out the exhaust and intake and centers the engine sounds of the car(if that makes any sense). Any exhaust will get crazy loud once you delete the second cat or get headers.

I currently have an over pipe and it is pretty loud right now. I'm debating on removing the front pipe. If I do I will record the sound and post it up.

Exactly! Technology found on much more expensive systems. I think it sounds good.

Thanks for the vid!
