About 7 years ago the company is worked for at the time in DC metro area offered a position in San Diego. I looked into the cost of living, taxes, etc and turned the offer down. As expensive as Northern VA was, San Diego was far worse... Taxes are nuts and only seem to get worse..

13% harmonized sales tax up here in good old Ontario. That's also down from when it use to be 15% back before 2001.

i paid $27k, but with tax, title, licensing and a vehicle destination fee (plus wheel locks and auto-dim mirror), it came out to pretty much $30k on the nose

I live in California, but I bought my BRZ from Heuberger Motors via Clint. I wouldn't consider any other way if I were you. Dealers in California holding MSRP or above and the simple deal that I got through Clint make it a no brainer. You should at least call and ask before you go to a dealer here.
