Car is taking too long to get here =(

Decided to make my own 10 Series FR-S #2501/2500

Complete with the exclusive Silver Ignition Paint that looks blue at different angles

Seems like Liberty Ace is heading for Tacoma WA from Yokohama about 6 days ago. Maybe some of them are on that boat

Sad. Just talked with my dealer. It seems the earliest production run for fleet orders had some undefined "quality issues" that created a stop sale on a limited run of VIN's including mine. Whatever needs checking or repair won't be completed until (estimated) month end. So my car will be sitting at the port collecting industrial fallout waiting for repair to correct an unknown issue and probably providing entertainment to bored vehicle processing employees during breaks. I'm starting to lose interest.

Out of curiosity do we know what the model number for ordering is to be used for the 10 series FRS? Never been more excited than now to have the vehicle enter the U S of A!

Not enough info to stress about...could be that the stupid glowing emblems aren't illuminating ().

Or it may be the hotly debated tsb that is supposed to be coming out to reflash the ecu (yet again) to fix the direct injector seal issue...

Do you know what range of VINs are affected by this stop sale?

I'm amazed that some of you have so much information. My dealership can't even verify what type of audio system the car is going to have let alone a VIN or tracking info. Hell, I don't even have a bill of sale: just a deposit on a car that nobody knows anything about. Toyota really dropped the ball on this. And whats with "holding" vehicles at port until the 10th? Gimme an effing break. There's a fine line between building hype and pissing people off.

The dealer doesn't know what the issue is and I only have my VIN, no idea of the range. What troubles me is that, based on the length of the delay, is that it could be a paint issue. Any other Series 10 assembly could be replaced in minutes from the parts bins. Purely speculation on my part, but something doesn't feel right about this.

Yes, but sometimes a new, maybe subtle production problem isn't noticed until some cars are already in transit on a ship.

If it's subtle... then it can't be the paint...
