It definately takes turns stock better then anything I have owned personally. Without having to much oversteer, which I felt like the S2K has.

don't worry about wrapping yourself around a tree or light pole. The VSC will save you every time as long as you exceed tire's limits at reasonable speeds which may feel unreasonably high for sedans.

p.s. remember to relax so you can feel the g forces pressing you into the side bolster of the seat. Those bucket seats are awesome. If you hang onto the steering wheel too tight, it reduces the amount of control you have and your ability to turn the wheel quickly.

Well, I actually have a friend who wrapped his around a tree last week. So it is possible to lose control...

it's pretty hard to crash with VSC on unless if you're absolutely going way too fast

Sounds like you never driven a true sports car before.. Or you just don't like them. This is a "true" sports car. It's not about blasting to 60 or how many cow hides make up the interior.. It's a basic pure sports car.. Period.
It gives you proper feedback and feel.. It's doesn't dull things down so you feel cozy and shit.. It's lightweight nimble and dare I say quick.. Not the fastest machine on the road.. But more than adequate for real world driving experience.
The car is balanced in handling and power.. A complete visceral driving experience you can do on a daily basis .. All in a great looking package and priced very reasonably..

It's ok not to like the car... But when you compare it to other cars built with a different purpose and overlook what the car is all about... You're just making useless noise..

haven't been in the new GS, but the previous gen GS disappointed me so much. Interior is smaller than a freaking camry. Unbelievable.

The FR-S (and sports cars generally) are definitely not for everyone. Read some of the long term reviews (Edmunds, Automobile Mag, etc.) to get a sense of the pros/cons of owning a car like this.

I will say, the FR-S is one of the more practical sports cars out there.

When I found out the FR-S/BRZ specs I was surprised to read so many comments about it lacking power. My '03 Eclipse also has 200hp and I have always enjoyed the ride, never found it lacking spunk.

I test drove a FR-S recently. I enjoyed many aspects of the car and currently have a deposit down on a 10 series. Still, I have to agree that I was not impressed with the bottom end acceleration...and am a bit confused why the 200hp FR-S felt much slower that my 200hp Eclipse!?

eclipse v6 probably makes 200 lb-ft of torque vs the 161 lb-ft in the fr-s. also fwd is more efficient and puts more power to the ground than rwd configuration. torque is what makes a car feel fast. power is only felt as the ability to accelerate at higher speeds.

Fast cars don't necessarily feel fast if they accelerate too smoothly. for example, the rsx-s was pretty quick for its day but it doesn't give you the sensation of being pushed back. It just pulls every gear longer than other motors can and gets up to speed faster than you realize because it is so torqueless and smooth.

Again. HP is for High-end or Max power. Torque is what move your car. A Great Example is the Tesla S 450 lbft at 0 RPM vs an M5 which Estimated with the 2014 M5 makes 340 lbft at 1300 RPM

Therefore, Car with the Highest Torque at the Lowest Possible RPM will always be winning at Launch, assume the Traction are equal on both.

When the Car started to move, Torque Power Band will play it role again, it affect the Acceleration of the car. This is the reason why people hate Power Dip, or Torque Dip in the FRS.

Let's not get carried away here. There were other cars like this and even better, just not at this price point. An older 911 or a Lotus for example...
