Just noticed my passenger side showing a good amount of condensation. At ~9200 miles. Could've been from the weird frost to warm temps we had last night. I'll check it tomorrow.

Just started to get condensation in my passenger taillight at around 12,000 kms. It's under warranty, and I'm just waiting for the part to arrive after Toyota ordered it for me. I just hope it doesn't happen again after they do whatever they're gonna do.

Can any 1 confirm that Toyota / Subaru got the proper solution now? I understood that I had this problem since I got the car. But, I wanted to wait until they got the right thing so I can send in the car in once. (planning a road trip with the rental )

Nope. Seems to be still an issue. I got my lights warrantied @ the dealer. At least it's not that bad of a condensation issue now compared to before where it occurred after a car wash.

If you want the problem to be gone you'll have to add sealant around both sides of the gasket where it touches the body and the tail light housing.

Yes, there are updated tail light gaskets and retaining nuts along with a mounting point repair that will permanently correct the problem. The lights themselves will only need to be replaced if they are cracked...most aren't.

When was yours fixed? After the new TSB in January 2013, or before that? If they followed the new TSB, I believe the root cause of the leak should be permanently fixed.

Had both taillights replaced yesterday for the first time. Let's see how long they last!

After. It was fixed in April. I got the car in late March. Condensation can still seen, just slightly around the edges of the taillight.

Did they just replace the taillights, or did they perform the new repair in the TSB I posted?

Thanks so much for this. I would be in for a 3rd set of lights but I think I'll just follow this TSB on my own (with the neoprene gasket from the DIY section) and call it a day.

Is it the edges closest to the body or the edges farthest from the body? If it's the edges closest to the body, then it can actually be outside of the tail light housing, which is normal.

Both actually. It's only a really small amount though, so I'm not worrying about it until it gets worse.
