Not an frs but i need some help....
ok me and my wife are trading in our 2011 Tc. we're going for a 2013 XB. in the financing we added spoiler, trd muffler, lowering springs and fog lamps. our rep, told us in order to get the springs put on, we would HAVE to get the trd shocks as well because the stock shocks will be lower and less likely to do their job. i have experience with cars and i know my stuff. i am almost posotive that our rep is full of it, i just need some input.

It's a lie. I have ordered scions before with the trd springs without the struts. Tell them you called scion customer service and they said its unnecessary.

It is true that the stock shocks will wear faster. Maybe what he means is that they can't warranty the stock shocks if you choose to not go with TRD ones. In my opinion, this would be totally reasonable.

ok i understand where your coming from burrcold, but when we looked on trd sparks at spoiler, there was a little side note saying that you needed the template and something else, if when ordering the springs wouldnt there be a little side note saying trd shocks recommended or trd shocks necassary?

But you have to remember, they are in the business of point of sale profits. It's better to market just the springs, so that the pricepoint is enticing...THEN hit you with the "need for TRD shocks".
