Both exhausts have the same muffler. Non-offset or offset has nothing to do with the muffler itself. It has to do with how the pipe enters and exits the mufflers. (Offset vs. Non-Offset).

If you plan on getting headers get the resonated. The Helmholtz is not supposed affect sound volume, it is aimed at drone produced by the headers. I got the 2.5 offset with the cat less downpipe with the HH resonator and I love it.

How much difference does the catted vs catless make on the sound level? Looking for something that won't require a new stereo or earplugs for long trips... ( been there done that)

Is the 3" special order I don't see an option for it on their site. Also does it come with a mid pipe since I'm pretty sure the 2.5 inch doesn't.

My cat less is very mellow on trips, at cruising speeds it is quieter than the road noise that you battle to hear the radio or conversation. My wife was rather surprised at how quiet it was while cruising, as most of my cars have had louder exhaust and some were pretty droney.
