What'd you use to cut the base material that holds everything together (looks great)? I was lacking in that department and just used a saw I had laying around. Dremel?

just traced out a backing plate
cut out some 2mm MDF then trimmed up with some black pebble vinyl and glued / stapled down to the base |

Does that slide rearwards for access to the plug if needed? I like the simplicity as a cover, but for an armrest it seems like it'd need to be taller. Of course, driver height plays a big role there.

yeah, she slides back to give access to the cubby hole underneath and plug, and removable to replace with extinguisher for track days
