Quick question about fuel

I found an E-85 station close to my house and since its 70c cheaper per gallon than premium I was wondering if it would be a suitable replacement. Now I have not put it in my car yet, but I do know that E-85 is used in all the performance dynamos and I assume its the same thing. My car is still Bone stock Minus tools and tire. Can I use e-85 without any long term or imidiate dammage to my engine. Also Will it increase performance in anyway, If it does or decreases performance i would like to know how so and by how much.
Thanks

TLDR

Will E-85 from the pump be fine for my car, and will it increase performance

The manual specifically says not to use e85. You have to have a special aftermarket tune to use it, and some people using it are now posting threads with fuel pump problems and fuel filters falling apart.

TL;DR - don't do it.

fixed your post.

there is one documented case that I'm aware of with a user's fuel filter that may (or may not) be related to their usage of E85.

Not multiple failures.
Not multiple people.
Not multiple filters.

One.

I'm not saying it's safe, or encouraging anyone to go fill up with E85 right now. But at the same time let's keep this in perspective here and not start exaggerating. At this point in time, it's a single isolated incident.

If the owner's manual says not to use it, that's enough for me.

You can use e85 with a tune designed for e85. You do have to weigh the performance versus MPG aspect, not sure if MPG is any importance to you. Your gas mileage will drop by probably 25%.

Don't do it. You may or may not regret it a couple years from now. The benefits don't outweigh the risks at this point. Anyone who tells you 'don't worry, it's safe' has no basis upon which to assert such a thing.

e85 hasn't been tested long enough to see the longterm effects on this car. I'd personally hold off and let others ruin their fuel lines and engines first if they've got more money to spend on replacements.

If you are only interested in e85 since it is cheaper per gallon then I'd say don't bother. E85 is cheaper, yes, but requires more fuel per amount of air to make the same power. Aka your mileage drops 20-30% and there is no cost savings then

Regardless of longterm longevity, you NEED a proper e85 tune (or flex fuel kit). If you just put e85 in on the stock map it'll run way too lean.
