(TSB) No More Crickets Under My Hood!!

Just fyi, the green dot is on the box that the pump comes in. You won't see it anywhere on the actual pump when you open the hood and check it. So, it's something that we can't check on ourselves.

Went to the dealer today and mentioned to the service person that it was making noise and that the window switch sometimes didnt auto up down. She came out to the car and said it sounded like a loose belt or something and the tech would look at it. The tech came back with the revised TSB for the fuel pump and said that the window switch also had one for an intermittent issue with the switch. They ordered both and gave me a loaner to drive.

So i don't know if the fuel pump is the issue, but is this noise like constant all the time like in the video? I ask because while driving and even idle i get a chirp noise prolly 3 times a minute comeing from in front of me in the driver seat.

from most cars you will still hear the ticking from the fuel pump. they are saying that the chirp is not normal and is the issue.

I cannot recall for certain, but I thought I read something about some additional lubricant being used on one of the components of the HPFP during assembly.

This might account for why the part number remained the same; the blue dot indicates it's assembled "differently."

No idea, but it seems reasonable.

It also seems like it would not be a durable fix. In fact, haven't most owners who've had a new pump installed said that the crickets returned just like before?

My crickets just awoke at 4100 miles, and nobody's going to touch my fuel pump. I will feed my crickets with the appropriate diet of 93 octane fuel and enjoy my car.

It was replaced a little while ago, and came back after 300 miles.

I went to the dealer today and had them pull up the revised TSB for the crickets fuel pump issue. Scheduled for the 18th. Kind of sucks because I wanted to put on my supercharger this weekend.
