7 days and 450 miles after "Green-dot" HPFP was installed. Still no crickets.

How do you know if you have the "green-dot" HPFP? Did you actually see it on the box or did you just take their words? I got mine replaced 8 days ago, but I have nothing to prove that I got the "green-dot" HPFP.

Go get Ethanol zero from the pump in Sandpoint.

Your chirps will be gone for good.

I've been running E0 for over 3k miles and still no chirps.

I was the only one at the Perrin drive I could find that didn't have the chirps....

www.pure-gas.org. Find a E0 Pump near you, use it.

I currently drive two exits north to get gas in Everett on broadway. Before when I was living on Queen Anne and I would drive all the way to Lake City (Sandpoint) and get gas.

If you hate the chirp and love your car enough not to put Ethanol in it (unless you have the E85 tune) then go the extra few miles and get some E0.

Only if it's near a race track. Otherwise don't use it, it's not meant for cars with cats.

It somehow got rid of the other noise too. So, maybe the other noise was from the fuel pump too.
I mentioned before that I only started hearing that noise after my fuel-pump replacement, so I'm of the mindset that it is.

That isn't true...

I mean do explain how E0 gas isn't meant for cars with cats..

'Pure-gas' E0 premium is in most cases 89-octane E0 + a buttload of octane booster not safe for car cats. It's usually meant for boats and some other non-car applications. If it's not near a race track - always ask what's specifically in it. I did, and around me there are no safe E0 stations on the pure-gas list.

Interesting info.
Do you know if E0 87 octane is safe for 87 octane cars?

Should be fine. It's the octane booster that is the issue. Here's what's in 90% of stations around me. There's not product sheet anywhere, and only searching the web suggests that there's a highly concentrated dose of MMT. Some manufacturers specifically warn against using products with MMT, since it can leave deposits in the cat and on combustion chamber walls.

I'm the service manager...I also called all the owners of BRZ's that previously had their pumps replaced for chirping, asked if it was chirping again, if they said yes I ordered them the new style pump and set an appointment to replace it.

We do things right...

If you got it done 8 days ago you likely got the new pump. The warehouses have been stocked with the new style since early to mid March.

My chirp finally showed up at 1,398 miles, this morning. Scheduled a service at the dealer next week. We'll see what happens then. Funny though, this morning, right before I started the car and heard the chip, I plugged the sound tube from inside. My mind automatically connected that action with the chirp and I thought, SHIT!, now what did I do!!?? Unplugging the tube didn't stop the chirping, so that wasn't it, but I got myself for a moment.... Hate when that happens.

Speaking of engine ticks (not chirps), it seems my AC unit is almost always running, with the unit "ticking" on and off all the time. Is this normal??
