I did not but this car to drag race, however coming for my 600hp car it is pretty lame having 200. I don't want to blow my money on a kit that isn't going to get me where I want and that is better indicated by the quarter mile time than the hp in my opinion.
My dad's car has 400 at the crank and felt almost as fast as mine even though I was making 2 3rds the power because it runs low 12s. |

Hmm, I want a turbo kit with the turbo mount location of the AVO kit but the turbo of the FBM/FA20club kit... I wonder how adaptable the AVO kit is... the turbo they include looks bitchy compared to a GTX28.

The AVO turbo appears to be a Chinese copy of a t518z 8cm turbo from Greddy/Trust. This has been subtly confirmed by AVO.
I pointed this out last week as I noticed the wheel sizes posted by AVO were round the wrong way. A t518z and a gt2871r are very comparable, and both have been used extensively on other 2000cc platforms. On other 2000cc applications, it has been noted that using a t518z 10cm over a t518z 8cm offers minimal advantage, for the increased lag. Something interesting I noticed was that Greddy themselves chose to use the t518z 10cm on our application. When comparing the Fa20 to a sr20, the head appears to flow better, higher compression, and higher redline, must all contribute to make the 10cm the better choice. You can also see this on the torque curves of the AVO and the Greddy kit. The AVO kit's torque appears to lower, compared to the Greddy kit which does not. Greddy would have extensively tested the t518z 8cm and 10cm, the fact they aren't offering the 8cm as an option says a lot. I wouldn't hesitate in running a t518z turbo much much harder than AVO are running their setup. But, in saying that, they don't have a t518z, they have a copy of one. Edit: If AVO were to release/allow the sale of parts of their kit individually (for example, buying the entire kit less turbo) then you could then choose to put on a t518z 10cm. But, I highly doubt AVO would do this, as it then would have the effect of implying that their turbo is (I'll pick my words carefully here) not optimal. |

![]() That was the first prototype. Things have moved on. Production item will be a work of art. Will be sold in Australia with everything required, including brzEdit tune. I'm not a vendor on here, so probably can't say much more. |

Good info, this is what I wanted to know when I asked on that AVO's thread since I had no idea about these turbos.. Would much prefer the GTX turbos myself as they do wonders on the RB26 although piping needed changing, especially E85..

Out of curiosity, and to see if my math is right, speculatively, if you're making 300 WHP, then you're making about 350 HP at the flywheel/crank (those two are pretty much synonymous right?) with about 15% parasitic loss, correct?
