Still mostly stock exterior minus LED bulbs and STI clear side markers:




Interior is almost completely GT-86 Limited. Looking to see if I can source some red Alcantara material and have my seats redone. Then maybe have JPM redo my steering wheel to make the dimple leather red. Still undecided about wanting a red shift knob or red e-brake handle or red e-brake boot or red shifter boot, any of that combination. I want it to compliment, not be overbearing. Maybe just settle with a red e-brake handle and a red shift boot? Any ideas?

Just wanted to give credit where its due - you've got great taste. Back when I was considering purchasing a wrx, I kept coming back to pictures of yours (I remember your name from NASIOC) as what I would want it to look like, and, in the end, it's why I chose DGM on my BRZ.

I'm generally not a fan of red, and have been considering trying to go with silver as the accent color inside, but you're showing how red can be used tastefully to great effect.

And, to your question above, I would probably go with just a red shift knob, but I notice you're considering red seats and steering wheel, which I think are too much, so I'm reconsidering my statement above that you've got great taste.

LOL! My spirits were lifted so high until that final sentence! hahahaha

Yeah, I don't want it to be overkill and there are other things I'd rather spend my money on besides reupholstering my seats. Plus Alaska is so dirty (and so am I at times) that red Alcantara just isn't feasible. I'm loving my STI shift knob that I think I might just call it good for now, although I still think red at 9 and 3 on the steering wheel would be subtle enough to complete the interior.

I'm also debating purchasing all the black plastic versions of all the silver trim pieces and having them painted gloss black. I think the silver is classy, but black gloss would make the interior look MEAN for sure.

I'm glad I inspired someone! DGM is an awesome color! I, too, am not a fan of red, but I decided to roll with it mostly because of the red-coloring of the digital numbers and gauges. I was obsessing about changing everything digital to blue when I realized that flowing with red would just be easier! hahaha

Soon I'll begin work on the exterior. Still debating on going TRD or STI. Most likely will go with STI because of simplicity.

I'm going to see if you have a build thread. Do you lurk on NASIOC in the BRZ Forum?

Also, I looked at my interior shot again and your comments... I'm thinking you're right. I tried imaging red Alcantara and even red portions on the steering wheel. Probably too much at that point. A red shift knob would be about as far as I could take it, possibly, or at least a red shift boot maybe... That's kinda pushing it, though. The red e-brake handle I thought would be a perfect compliment to the red door handles and door trims on either side of the car, kind of tying them together.

Actually they are Varrstoen ES2. 18x9.5 +34 all the way around.

Ha! Just teasing. Yeah, no build thread here. I've had the car since Sept., and only opticoated it, as since then I changed jobs and moved across country, and have mainly been working on the new house. I'm just now getting back to the car, and am kind of stuck on wheels at the moment. (Oh, and, no, I think I just joined NASIOC to see what people where doing with WRX's, but haven't been back but a few times since joining here.)
