I also kinda wish that the gauge needle started at the "6 o-clock" mark.

Man, I must be Toyota and Subaru's biggest pita! Niggling over these itty bitty details!

Dunno if sweeping is really only for looks, its kind of a self test showing that the gauge functions properly and it might even calibrate min and max range?

Not sure though.

And yea about your wiring, you need a better power source

LOL it's powered off the IGN ON which is the normal source for it.

Doesn't calibrate, they do call it a self test but it's for looks in reality IMO.
