Thanks again @Pscylo for meeting tonight. You guys are going to love the five axis wheels and crystal eye tailights he's running. Just gotta convince him to join us next time we are out and he's not working.

The runway legth calculation has been updated to account for the plane going at least 125mph to get lift. The runway is now 60 miles long.

Lol. I was at a shop the other day looking at a set. My girl said "I didn't even know you were looking at rims" to which I replied "but everyone is getting them" lol.

It will be a while though.

It's f@cking memorial weekend. I hate holidays. Working open to close all weekend. I'm so sick of all holidays are now just "sales events". What about celebrating rack holiday for what it is and not making it a "huge sale" on cars, furniture, etc. F$CK!!! Ok I feel better now. @SMOKETREES ill get to them on Tuesday. On off work. If you want to get ahold of me Tuesday I can burn them to a disc or something for you.

Yup me and @RedLeader said 30 miles I guess our years of aircraft maintenance has thought us something besides how to swear 4 times in every sentence and binge drinking can be a sport after 6 months in the dessert!

In respect they did use a 225 and the Russians (that's me) found out after they built it that it takes longer than any other jet powered aircraft to obtain flight normally just over 30sec unless going up hill (us Russians are not that good with a level) and in that case they go off the end of the runway and blow up.

A fun evening on the karting track by Tucson.

I showed up right when they opened and it was just 6-8 of us on the track at the most. They had a short drivers' meeting and then they turned you loose. (Though they watch you like a hawk out there and will pull your happy ass off the track).

Mine was the only 86 represented, and it was all 4 cyl Japanese cars that I saw out there. A WRX was the heaviest thing out there with no 2 ton cars to be seen. It's very hard on brakes.. with a straightaway where you can grab 3rd for a couple seconds (65+) but then you have to really stand on the brakes. I have stock brakes with Stoptech pads and could definitely use more power and less fade.

It was my first time on a track and I've only been getting familiar with throttle steering/oversteer and heel-toeing for a few weeks now. Anyway I kept the stock tires on for more of a "learning experience". I kept the TC off and the tail really stepped out a lot with the crappy tires and hot pavement. At one point I fishtailed out of a turn R and L and R and L. Total n00b shitshow stuff.. The guy supervizing found me in the pits after the lap and yelled "don't EVER do that again!". I feel bad for how stressful that's gotta be when it's on your watch -- maybe he thought i was doing it on purpose for some mad drifting yo.

And then a buddy showed up who has instructed HPDE courses and he rode along a few laps. Being such a tight course there's nowhere to hide and he saw some of the common bad habits right away. Being too aggressive, yet still coming in shallow and soft on the brakes, then riding the brakes through the turn. And sawing at the wheel and plowing on the way out. Not using the whole track. etc etc

Working on the lines, he had me wait a second to brake and then yelled "NOW!" for a crisper turn-in. The laps got better but still nowhere near smooth. And he picked a wall of tires with my name on it. LOL

Awesome learning day for sure. With no get-offs or airbags deployed, and no fiery explosions that were caused by me.

I feel kind of stupid for wanting all these mods on my car. It's so ideal as it is for learning how to drive, and pretty obvious that the main problem is the nut behind the steering wheel.
