i've made the mistake of going with a shorter final drive once before. it's cool for about the first month. turning 3k+ at 60mph and not having a useful first gear gets tiring real quick. of course this was in a 2400lb miata with 260whp, so i'd imagine here the math is a bit different.
what are you turning at 65-70 in 6th? |

quite normal for a 4-banger as far as i'm concerned... i don't understand what it is that annoys people about cruising at such RPM's, it's quite low to be honest.

Stock MT is just reaching 2800-3000 RPM at that speed on stock gearing with stock height tires.
Noise. |

Slow down? BRZ 6th gear isn't great but it's not that bad, at least you're able to do 60-65mph comfortably. 60mph over here is >3200rpm
And you don't have a soft top, and you have touring Michelins. Though I agree 3000rpm is bad, pretty annoying to listen to unless it's one of those cars where you can't hear the engine at all.

I am curious as to what the top speed in each gear is with this mod?
Also what if the redline was 8000 in 2nd gear - what would that gears top speed be? (Visconti tuned) |

Look on page 2 at the chart posted. Will somewhat answer your question, but not the 8000rpm 2nd gear limit on the tune.
