Shop that does tuning for cheap.
I found a shop norcal east bay area Equilibrium tuning who does tunes for cheap. Anybody go thru them yet or know if this is something i should consider? they got a couple frs and brz their working on so seems legit but my only thing is the price might be too good to be true..

They'd have to use BRZedit or you need like 300 for a license. That just pisses me off.

They are opensource Subie guys. Hit and miss in reviews, mainly due to people not liking the owner (me for 1 fwiw, some about tunes not being the best.) They only did road tunes until getting a dyno about 2 years ago. I always considered them the lowest on the totem pole for bay area subie tuners behind GST and FW Motorsports (formerly DB Tuned).
But Ed has been around a while and its not a total scam. Check out i-club for more info on them. Just keep in mind the ds-4 is what caused all the tuning problems in the first place and other subies dont run it. |

Right. That's why any inexpensive tune would require BRZedit. 1500 for the shop to buy the software. A bit more for their cable. Then they can tune unlimited cars without screwing their customers on a $300 license. I know EcuTek is better, but not $300 better per tune per customer. The lite version is 199, 2/3rds the EcuTek price. Frankly, I'm hoping someone gets RomRaider working. I'm not against paying a tuner for tuning. However, the EcuTek fee is ridiculous.

I can definitely tell you worse shops to go to for Subaru installs/parts, namely the one that installed my turbo wrong and probably blew my engine.

EQ is a reputable shop I'd trust. They're very popular in the scooby crowd (as well as GST and FW Motorsports).
Check out the stuff they've done in this super long thread on I-Club.com |
