Wheel Directory: Enkei RPF1 17x8.0 +35
![]() I have a set of rpf1's on the way and was wanting to stretch the stock 215's to fit on 17x8's. Question is, does anyone have a picture of how bad the tires will look? Another question is, should I go with a 225/45 or a 245/40? I'm not really looking for a stretched look, but I don't want to add to much width to the tire. My ideal size would be a 235/40 but there are so few options. Edit: Pictures posted further down! Thanks everyone for the input Last edited by DarrenDriven; 03-17-2014 at 01:57 PM. I have seen that the kumho xs have a a tread with of 7.9 in on their 215's so I'm almost thinking that may be the way to go as well. |

They'll fit fine, but I wouldn't waste the mounting and balancing charges. Those tires are worth more left on the stock wheel. I've definitely made use of my stockers as a backup set for when I'm getting tires flipped or going on road trips.

I'm running 225/45's on 17x8's, they fit great. My speed still reads dead on compared to GPS.

I don't think the stretch is that bad if you're using 215 but that's just my opinion so long as its just regular driving you are good to go and the thing about wider tires is that they over hang a bit to cover the lip of my wheels in case I ever rub against something. Other than that so long as the manufacturer says it fits then it fits and the less rubber the cheaper it is too ![]() Just do some more researching, most companies publish acceptable rim width measurements for their tires on their sites like Falken (http://falkentire.com/tires/car-tires/azenis-fk453) just click view sizes and specs then you can see all the accepted widths of the tire. Hope this helps. |

This is true, in real world applications those 1-2% differences are only really noticeable when going roughly 100km (estimate) and even then 1-2% of 100 is only 1-2kms +/- so....realistically it doesn't make much of a difference.

Thanks for all the input, looks like I'm probably going to be running 225/45's.

Another quick question. I've got muteki closed end lugs, will those work with the rpf1's?

I'm running the stock lugs on mine, the locking lug is a tight squeeze to get the key onto it, but they fit.

Any 225 should be fine on a 7" wheel, tirerack gives the full specs of any tires they sell so you can see what rim sizes will work.
