I'm still in my 90 day period at comcast until the 26th, and you can only get 3 (miss 20% of your shift or more) in your first 90 days.

I had 1 infraction point before leaving early on Sunday to take her to the ER, now I have 1.5.

If I don't show up on Saturday I will get another 1 infraction point, putting me at 2.5, which is WAY too close to getting canned even if I do move over to the 8 point system on Sunday. I incur 18 days of paid time off on Sunday as well, so I'll be able to make other drives this summer and some of the monthly Renton meets as well.

This really sucks since my gf and I were planning on staying someplace on the coast off the 101 on Saturday night and fucking around at the beach all day on Sunday.
that sucks man! we'll see you another time, hope she's better. Odd that they'd punish you for taking someone to the ER though..

I don't look at it as a punishment. Every company has a attendance system, comcast's is actually very very fair.

You would need to have 8 unrelated (being sick 4 days in a row is only 1 point) incidents where you miss more than 20% of your shift in a 6 month period before you would get fired. They give you 8 extra "Flex days" a year that you can break up into hours if you want so its pretty easy to get the shit you need done and not get points. You can also use flex days to remove points from your attendance record, any flex days you don't use are paid to you in a check up to a $1,000 at the end of the year.

Its just the first 90 days you don't have any flex days or time off, so its really kinda a test to see if you are going to be stable.

Its a great company to work for, I'm very satisfied with pretty much all aspects of my job and benefits other than my shift bids.

Google maps says it should take 2.5 hours to travel from BofA in Seattle to Jantzen beach portland. So all the portland guys need to be at Jantzen beach by 9:30 and ready to roll out!!

Count me in as well.

Just recently moved to the area, and have been looking for a good excuse to take a daytrip anyway

We will have a pretty decent group going down! I'm working hard on finishing my rear diffuser and front air tray to show off for this
