the smoked look is fine, but it still gives off a shiny chrome look, just darker, and I don't like it. I didn't start out to blackout the taillights, I just kept going and it looked better. I'm going to get some pictures today when more people get over here for the holiday so I have a helper to do the lights while I film/take pictures. And I do plan on doing the front side markers and turn signals, but not the headlights. I used spray over window tint because of of all the curves. I'm by no means an expert and spray IMO is easier to work with.

I want to see some with about 1/2 this amount.

Basically just slightly smoked to take the "edge" off the chrome.

But this is much better than the fully blacked out, IMHO :happy0180:

Also it looks ghetto when the light is not glossy anymore... this guy did good by using clear coat.

Hope he gets a settlement from the other driver's insurance company before his insurance adjuster inspects his car (and notices he modified one of the safety items on his car which increases the chances of him being rearended). Insurance companies have dropped claims from clients who have made their cars unsafe per FMVSS in the past. Just a word of advice to those making these modifications to their taillamps.
