The new TSB has the same pump, but a different O ring. There's a couple different parts on it on the more recent one. Whether or not it truly fixes the issue is the question.

Yes 0 ethanol is very hard to find that's why I had to resort to 100 Octane

As the summer comes by everyone will be experiencing the chirp more, due to the summer and winter blends. Wish we had winter blends all year long and 100 octane was cheaper :/

Do keep us updated on the results of aftermarket pumps. I think it'd be worth the cost of the pump to get rid of the chirps.

I will, it's waste of time and effort to take our cars to the dealer. They'll do an easy fix but thn it will come back.

Sorry to disagree, but the revised TSB only adds certain VIN numbers to the old TSB, the part list is identical.

Same O-ring (fuel pipe gasket), reduced the number needed to 1 instead of 2 because the pump comes with one.

I posted the revised TSB on another post...http://www.ft86club.com/forums/attac...1&d=1368820310

Ive noticed that sound as well, bringing it in for service. I went to a car show recently and from what I was told, its a very common problem.

dsgerbc is correct.
Here's the copy&paste from the new TSB.

Quote:
A production change was made to an internal fuel passage along with a change to the shape of the plunger stopper thus eliminating the source of the sound.

Looks promising, but I will wait a few months into the summer before I do it. I'll sit on the sidelines till its confirmed fixed by a good number kinda like I did when I watched someone get 3 pumps replaced and all of them chirped with the first TSB!

Same wording both TSB's...
Subaru doesn't make a change to a part without a new part number, otherwise it makes it impossible to determine which parts have been updated and which have not.
Believe what you want, keep having the dealer take your car apart and you'll still have the noise. Find non-ethanol fuel and your noise will go away....regardless of how many pumps you have installed.
Don't you think I'd be the first one to claim these parts fix the problem....I'm at the dealer everyday...but they don't.

Good luck.

And how many have you fixed with parts manufactured after mid-February?
I'm guessing none, or no way to tell. What you (or anyone else here) can tell us if there are cases of chirp with VINs higher than x607798.

Anyone here with a recently delivered car that's chirping already and a VIN after the TSB cut-off of x607798?
Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying this is a fix, I just think there is no viable data to claim otherwise as of yet.
