Brian/Visconti or anyone else with a vortech kit and an aftermarket header...

Should I be concerned about running too lean with this kit? I have a borla UEL and am going to use a Visconti basemap for the first few runs to datalog. Should I be concerned with being too lean due to the header? I don't want to pop a motor trying to get a datalog to prevent that, I know Brian/Vortech mentioned that their basemap was for cars with exhaust modifications NOT including the header due to the risk of running lean.

Is this a real danger until I get an updated tune based on my datalogs?

I have a few guys with headers, nothing to be concerned about.

After flashing be sure to submit a datalog before beating the crap out of it and ill update as needed

Normally a good 3rd gear run will tell me all I need to know

I'm going to post up a tune change log in my support console because I'm already on revision 3 or 4.

I'll be submitting some logs this weekend for you John. By "good 3rd gear run" I presume you mean a 2k to redline WOT pull in 3rd gear?

2.5K or 3K to redline will be good enough.

What is the maximum PSI of the current compressor? I'm wondering if its possible, with the proper blower, to get BIG power like some turbos are getting. I know I want a supercharger. Just wondering what the max HP I can get to with it.

The compressor map shows about 1.1-1.2 bar max.

Hello Brian,

I am unbelievably interested in purchasing a complete kit but I live in Ontario Canada so I am not sure if getting this kit would get me in trouble with the law (Ive never purchased/installed a FI system in my life so I'm clueless in that regard). Also, would I have to order this kit directly from you or do you have any certified shops in Ontario who sells/installs this kit? Many thanks in advance!

For those that have ordered kits, how does vortech ship them? Ups? Usps? FedEx? Curious because I ordered mine through visconti and hoping it's not ups and I end up with huge customs fees

All the kits, tuner, complete or otherwise, are drop shipped from Vortech, and they use UPS.

Question for you guys with your kits already installed - I noticed that my wingnuts on the filter box don't lock in tight, is this common? Any suggestions on how to make this thing snug? Not like the flap is opening up or anything, but I'm OCD about that kinda stuff...

Just finished my install, the wingnuts are slightly loose but I doubt they will vibrate out of place or come unhooked.

The car doesn't feel faster, until you look down and see how fast you are going.

Anyone know what the lead time is around roughly? @Brian@Vortech said their aim is 7-10 days, any ideas how backlogged it is?

(I'm on holidays until June 3rd and wondering if I should expect it to arrive before I get back, just ordered it through John)

Mine was ordered from Visconti and it shipped out on the 16th business day. John's been saying that it's around 15 business days before it ships so he was pretty close with my estimate. Lucky for you, you're going to get the MAF harness extension as part of your kit since it hasn't shipped yet. I missed that by a week and ended up paying extra for the harness! Well worth it if you dont' want to hack up your stock MAF harness.
