As for AT vs. MT, having only one shift point in an autocross, it generally doesn't make much difference. The AT's have the advantage of an easy downshift into first if they want it, but that usually just leads to tire spin. It really comes down to driver skill. @UncleFester can shed some light on this as I feel like I remember him commenting on his car downshifting into first meaning he lost too much speed.
Exactly right. It really just depends on the course lay out.

I've got nothing going on Sunday and need some practice, so I'm doing my first event with CDC to test things out. The registration process seems crazy complicated, but I got an e-mail saying I'm in...

Just for fun, I'll buy a beer for any FRS/BRZ driver that beats me.

Looks like a challenge. I'm gunning for @fredk so I guess I'll have to get both of you in the process

Field is now full and closed for this event (we even over-booked). If you are signed up and will not attend, e-mail at capitaldriving@yahoo.com so that I can take you off the roster to make room for those now on a wait list.

A few more questions...
How do we pay for the event?
I know it's tiny, but is the lot grippy?
Why are the car numbers we're assigned so high?

1. Cash at the event
2. Ehhhhhhhh Frederick is better than Bowie. I'd say as good at FedEx not on the tar.
3. Club numbers over time increase as people come and go. If you become a member you get a permanent number. I am 650, the 900's is where they put people who are not members for the day. The lower the number someone has, the longer you can tell they've been with the club

I had the option to take a 600 number but opted for an 800. Went with a combo I already had magnets for.
