The ECU also apparently isn't able to adapt the fuel cutoff speed threshold, it just uses some preset engine speed threshold whereas the 2ZZ ECU can reset that kind of stuff based on whether the engine stumbles at a lower speed.

Oh yea, I forgot my promised Seagull 816.351 pictures:

Didn't get the mention, dammit. I much prefer this Seagull to the Shanghai (rumour is that Shanghai case and dial style was made for associated companies to make Patek knock-offs).

I think that Seagull also probably looks a million times better in person, too.

Ever notice that with official watch web pics? They look pretty meh or even cartoony on their sites, but then you see it in person and it's like OMG amazing!

I threw a mention your way, too in 'Random Pics' showing my new beat-up 1972 Seiko automatic chronograph. In for service/light restoration with an estimate of almost triple the cost of the watch!

Carbon bracelet is kind of cool. Do you have your own pic of it?

Yea that Shanghai watch has a million knockoff versions by sketchy brands, but it does look nice. Wouldn't mind having it sit in a glass display case.

In person the Shanghai's fancy dial texture really stands out and gives it some flair, whereas this Seagull looks very metallic.

I really want to visit their factory someday and check out their tourbillon watches, I don't like the piqueish dial texture on the ones they have on the website. Hopefully by that time the prices won't be like 20k or something crazy like that.

That Seiko sure is beat up, how does it even get that much dirt under the crystal? Are you replacing the crystal with sapphire or glass? I remember my last watch with its glass crystal got scratched pretty easily, whereas this sapphire crystal shows no blemishes whatsoever.

Its original glass crystal probably broke and water got in, hence the ugly hands and hour markers. It has an acrylic crystal replacement and they, as you can see, get scratched if you just look at them wrong. It is my third most accurate watch, though. And the chrono worked perfectly which is apparently an issue, so I'll see what it looks like when I get it back.

(Take some better pictures of the Seagull... )

I've been saying for years, that if you think high school was the best part of your life, you have lived a sad and pathetic life. I can't think of any part of high school that I'd prefer to now.
