Someone who actually understands and gets it. I love this car, but the way the FR-S is heading, I won't be trading in my IS for it yet. Maybe I'll wait for the TRD or RS versions to come out.

How would the FR-S have a sticker of 24K if the BRZ is the same with HIDs and Nav standard?

Because navi, speakers, and HID's don't cost the factory much to install or put in. Its only like $1000 at the most. Probably more like $600. Its only expensive when its dealer done. I see the price still at 23k+.
When I first bought my Prius it only cost like $800 more with navi, speakers, HIDS etc. They really wanted people to buy it. Now the packages cost way different. But I expect this type of upsell vs college students. Its what marketing does. Only time will tell... I'm just not impressed at the first impression. Like I said, I'm not looking for a cheap car. But again time will tell. If your not happy don't buy it. I'd have to wait till the last min. But I'm most likely going with the Brz. I'm just more upset that Toyota brought it, but dropped it for the USA. |

*insert picture of smiley face beating a dead horse*
I dont think scion will be screwing anyone over. My belief is that the FRS will cost the same as the BRZ when equipped with the same amount of options. There is no conceivable way that a similarly equipped FRS will be cheaper than a similarly equipped BRZ because these cars are being sold at cost. If you guys want the same options as the premium or limited, than expect to pay that price of 24k or 27k. The only way that this car will cost less than 24k is if Toyota removes options, which pleases me. I am not sure if options installed by the dealer will add to cost, but scion has pure pricing so I do not think that they will be out to gouge. In the event that they do, why not buy a BRZ? I am a toyota loyalist as well but I choose funtion over form, and these cars are 100% identical... I get the impression that a lot of people want toyota to just go with the premium and limited releases route to match subaru. Why? Would it not be better to have choices? Put your money where it will serve you best. |

just becase it has projectors doesnt mean it has HID's
also for the people who keep calling the FR-S a Cheap car why is the car cheap all they did is change the fucking HVAC and the head unit and i don't know why everyone refuses to acknowlege that scion offers the potential upgrade not costing an arm and a leg. i'm so tired of people bitching about the build quality when they havent even seen the damn car. find legit complaints because knobs arent legit complaints. the 2010 tc had 5 options for headunits and they weren't that expensive at all. also this car is projected to be cheaper than the brz why would you expect it to be less expensive when it's the exact same car but come with all the same stuff? .......*sigh* haters gunna hate. |

The main issue I'm worried about is if there is soft touch padding by the speakers and the center console where your knees hit under hard cornering. I've had issues with bruising when driving my Miata on the track (I'm not a little guy...) so having or not having padding on a car that will see track days is somewhat of a big deal to me.
Don't really care if its stitched leather or not. |

Personally I couldn't care less about things like push button start. It adds nothing of value to the car. I also prefer a simpler HVAC control system and if that makes the car more affordable, it's ok with me. I can also do without Nav system and heated seats.
