ARK DT-P Coilovers

Hello! I am the second person to get their hands on the ARK DT-P Coilovers. I purchased the set through ARK. Jonathan (forgot his forum name) has the first set.

Packaging: It came in a huge box. Once i opened the box, there were 4 long rectangular boxes, each one having one coilover in it. They were all bubble wrapped neatly.

Install: I installed the coils at my brothers shop with his help. It was a pretty straight forward install, nothing hard or unusual about this set of coilovers. I did have a problem getting the camber plates right, but i will go further into detail later

Overall Impression of Driving: I am by no means a coilover expert, so take my review a grain of salt. I have been in cars with much stiffer suspension and it was uncomfortable for me. I was expecting it to be somewhat like i imagined but it wasnt. I Accidently messed with the spring and had a small bit of spring droop which caused the car to clunk and was extremely bouncy. I fixed that problem asap. One more problem that came up (which wasnt a big deal) were that the camber plates for the right side of the car were on the front left coilover, and the camber plate for the left side of the car were on the front right coilover. It took me awhile before i realized the camber plates needed to be switched. It wasnt a big deal, and since i got the second set, i contacted ARK and notified them of the situation. They apologized and told me they would re-inspect every coil to prevent future problems for buyers.

After i had fixed the spring droop, it rode incredibly smooth. Its a 6k/6k spring rate all around. TO ME it seems to be slightly stiffer than stock, but it definitely handles alot better. I wanted something i could Daily Drive and these coils allow me to do that. Theyre awesome. I really do recommend them to anyone looking for coilovers. I think theyre great for the price.

Here are some pics of the coils

I am pleased with the quality of my ARK exhaust so I may look into these in the future. I know they have the intro pricing now, but they are just not in the budget for awhile. Are you DDing the car or tracking it?

I DD the car. I'm not a track person so I cannot comment on how they are on the track, but Jonathan who has the first set said they performed well at the 86 Dynamic Driving Academy event.

On smooth streets they ride awesome. Even though the streets in LA suck, they ride slightly stiffer than stock. I'm really pleased. But I am by no means a coilover expert so this is just my opinion

I'd also like to add if anyone in Oc/La would like a drive, I'd be happy to give you a ride around in my car and you can see how you like it

Another small Update. I have about a 1 finger gap in the rear. I should be filling that gap soon. The fronts can go lower but i like the height since i DD and my commute to Long Beach has crap roads....there is a no finger gap up front. Slightly tucking, and cambered.
