I'm curious how direct injection will take to mods. Was looking for a new sporty car that has DI and looks like the new Mustang GT 5.0L has DI. They're getting about 25whp with an intake and tuner combo. Not bad. If an intake and tuner made 15whp (about 20 fly hp) and it didn't cost more than about $500-$700, I'd say it would be worth the bump in power and response. The mustang guys do the tuner and they can dial in more response from the throttle by wire.
I highly doubt a 20hp crank increase with just intake and tune

with the GT you have to consider the size of displacement they are working with. I would think you would get 15HP total and not too the wheels considering breathing would still be bottled necked by the stock headers and exhaust

Toyota has mention in a bunch of the development interviews that the FA20 engine mounts are the exact same as the ej mounts.

Hmmm, haven't seen a single one.

I know the FA is supposed to have the same bore spacing as the EJ, but that doesn't necessarily mean the manifolds will match, port wise. Or bolt wise.

People keep talking turbo like it's going to be easy (guilty of it myself) but we havent seen if there is room for it yet. and i wonder if anyone else read the article about the engine being too far back for a turbo and the top mount not fitting.

yea i figured it helps "push the wheels out" creating more space within the envelope of the car. Older cars had crazy space under the fenders.

I like step lipped wheels which aren't really high offset friendly but it's all good, just get concave full face wheels eventually...

There's plenty of room under the hood for forced induction, but I highly doubt you can bolt in a turbo engine from another Subaru. The layout just won't work.

And all this talk about huge wheels/tires is ridiculous. Are you intentionally trying to destroy the (supposedly) fantastic handling?

The stock equal length header design makes it unnecessary to buy after market for the car. I think the first cat might be a bit too small. Not too sure. I like how they attached a resonator in the mid section. This car is really setup well.

How do you tell if fenders are rolled or not from those pictures?
People say the same thing about the S2000. But there's always horsepower to be found. If anything get an aftermarket setup that eliminates one of the catalytic converters.

Its hard to imaged this fantastic handling car is running on Prius tires!
I mean damn! Just what if it had better rubber?

I think that's the point. For non-enthusiasts, 215/45/17 is plenty of rubber to get from point A to point B that looks nice and feels sporty. For those of us that'll spend more time "off-highway", we're going to add what we want anyway. I honestly believe this is going to be that type of car where I'll be able to drive off the lot, add my wheel and tire package, and be competitive at the track/auto-x without engine mods.

bump it up to a 225 tire and you should be set (did that on past cars albeit larger )

^agreed. For this vehicle's power level nothing more is really needed.

Agreed, however nobody has released any handling numbers. Nothing objective is out yet, it's purely subjective. No doubt this car will benefit from stickier rubber. But considerably wider rubber? I don't think so.
