lager exhaust gives about 8% on top of that
cams gave a nother 8% gain in hp -2% loss in tq

(isnt my car but pulls about the same) love my 35mpg
The engine is already at 100hp/L. There really just isn't a lot of headroom on that with bolt-ons.

you do realize the 2zz-ge 1.8 im my car puts out 107bhp/L in the JDM off the lot
im putting down about 101whp/L right now and i still get around 35 mpg if i just cruise back n fourth to work, but valve lift wont be allowed soon in many parts of the world because of emmisions sad day

but without lift the ft-86 does pretty good performance wise and mpg, so hats off to subaru and toyota

EDIT(added this)

yes strapped to rollers,
when i said 35hp i mean crank hp from mods im pushing(guesstamated ricer math) 215 to the crank from the stock 181 my car came with
stock dyno my car came in at a healthy 162 whp (some have gotten more or less) and 185whp after my mods and a conservative tune(to retain my mpgs)
other numbers are just from reading celica forums
cant find DD intake manifold dyno charts but it yields some retardedly good gains by itself and a tune

I am glad to see that your 1.8 was able to squeeze that much power from basic mods.

Do not forget that we are also talking about a boxer engine, which seems to be less efficient NA and I was trying to be conservative so people wouldnt get toooooo excited! haha

Your celica on the other hand is quite impressive...

Boxer engine doesn't have a problem, in fact they can have a bit less loss since they don't need counterweights but...Subaru engines tend to be not so good in the efficiency department compared to their Japanese bretheren

I would only expect to pick up noticeable power from messing with the cats. Everything else is already optimized.

Lets not forget lightweight pulley's and a more efficient intake manifold ie pnp. I don't care how optimized a company SAYS their product is. There's ALWAYS room for improvement.

Uh huh. Port and polish a plastic/composite intake manifold. Big gains to be had there.

Holy crap the IM on this car is made out of plastic?! What kind of ghetto shit is that?..Welp that just opens the door for another option which was a more efficient IM.

I/H/E/T I wouldn't count on more than 25hp.

I/E/T will be somewhere closer to 15-20hp.

N/A mods suck, and don't forget that getting a tune on this thing may take quite a while given the complexity of the heads as well as having to crack the ECU.

C 63 AMG can get 30 HP just with tuned ECU, because the engine is detuned. If the FA20 also is detuned, then you easily get 15 PS just with tune. With bolt-ons and tune you can get 30 PS. With big modification, you can get 250 PS, with race modification you can come close to 300 PS. Well, but for a while we do not know what is the engine capable of.

not sure if i read somewhere if it was aluminum and it was coated in a plastic resin to avoid heat soaking the IM
