I love it as well. Do you notice that the torque dip is more noticeable? since there's more torque in low end and high end.

I know i will love it so much more when i get my headerback and stage 2 tune.

Your torque dip starts at 2k rpm?! That would be a bummer for daily driving

How did you experiment? I have perrin pulley as well. my torque dip starts at 4k - 5.5k rpm. From 2k to 3.5k is a good increase in torque from stock, and from 5.5k to redline is a surge of torque thats feels nearly like VTEC

I did diff types of launches at diff rpm, kinda hard to explain but I hear ya after the 5.5k to red line.
Ya the pulley kit def made up for it though.

On the 1st and 2nd gear, I do feel the car gave extra force after the aFe intakes installed. That is true, on the low end it help the torque.

Yeah i know thats why the torque dip is more noticeable now because low end torque is more before the torque dip. So when your from 2.5 - 4k, your like , then when it reaches 4k - 5.5k you go then when you reach 5.5k and you feel that surge of torque you go

I've posted my thoughts earlier on intakes, but I installed the TRD airbox and couldn't be happier. The issue is drivability. The TRD gave me a much improved lower end compared to the original equipment. I can conceive of some horsepower gains from tuned systems at higher RPM's, but I'm pretty sure the gains are relatively minor percentage wise, and likely to result in a peakier throttle response. For my purposes, getting a nice steady pull from launch to about 6 grand makes the car much more drivable and enjoyable. Don't get hung up on small percentage gains.

I purchased my AFE intake from another guy at a local BRZ/86 meet for $250 brand new. Installed it and it gives noticeably more torque only in low end and high end. Because of this, the torque dip is more noticeable.

A TRD air box costs about $600 here in Australia. And it adds similar gains to the AFE intake. I think the AFE is the better buy per dollar. The best buy per dollar is the K&N filter.

I have been running the TRD intake for about two weeks now.

I only have butt dyno numbers but here is my opinion.

My car pulls harder in low and high rpms than before (at least enough for me to notice a difference). It seems like the torque dip is worse now than before. I really feel the dip in torque at about 3.5k-4k and then the engine picks up again around 4.5k and comes in like gang busters around 5k rpm.

I love the sound the intake makes and the fact that the stupid sound tube is gone more than anything else.
