Ideal resonator placement to remove drone on muffler deletes?

Just hoping to get this cleared up. I bought and installed a dual-tip Berk muffler delete, and I love the way it sounds...on the outside. There is a lot of noise in the cabin now, though....usually under load or right around 2,000 RPM. I've purchased an 18" resonator from Summit and plan to have it welded into place, but I was just wondering where to put it to get the most out of it.

So, do you place the resonator between the two tips (on the pipe that leads to the passenger's side tip) or do you place it before the flange (in the exhaust piping that leads up to the rear-section)? My original thought was to put it between the two tips:

Basically between the two hangars in the pic above

However, it doesn't seem like that would do anything for the exhaust from the driver's side tip, since it's more or less a straight shot back, and would come before it entered the resonator (unless I'm thinking about this completely wrong).

I'm not sure how much pipe there is to work with back in that area, but I'm just trying to maximize the ability of the resonator. So, where is the ideal spot to put it if you're looking at reducing in-cabin drone the most?

putting it between the tips will only effect the passenger side exit like you mentioned, is there even enough room to ad a resonator to the factory mid pipe?

I'm not sure there is. That piece looks pretty curvy...not much of a straight section to put one in, unfortunately. On a related note, I can't believe how well the stock muffler does its job LOL...talk about night and day difference in sound levels!

You'll probably want to snag a smaller resonator so that you can fit it up on the midpipe, or have a new midpipe fabricated by an exhaust shop in conjunction with the resonator you have.

You need it on the mid pipe.. Not on the pipe with the tips..

Is there cabin drone with the Works piece? That's what that looks like, anyway...just wondering if that placement reduces the drone, or if I should try to see if the shop can fit it in the midpipe somewhere.

No drone. The OEM and the WORKS midpipe feature a resonator. If you don't want any drone keep a resonated midpipe and a muffled/resonated axleback.

Awesome. I bought a Vibrant 18" resonator from Summit on Saturday. If the Works piece has no drone and has the resonator between the tips, that's where I'll put it. Hope it works, because, although I don't really care so much for short trips around town, I can see where it would get to be a little annoying on longer trips.

Berk will still drone on the driver side even with the resonator because the driver side is fully open and exhaust gas is not going through the resonator

Our works AB is not fully open, thats why it has zero drone on both sides

Sell the berk piece to track junkies who don't care about drone and get the AB or ABM

ABM is you plan to change other exhaust components in the future

What about replacing the factory resonator with a more substantial muffler, similar to the Borla set-up?
