Thats odd. Do you do mostly city driving?

As for oil, I had seen that people here say mobil 1 is fine but are still hesistant to use it due to its history with Subaru engines.

I used 0W-20 since that is what is recommended by Subaru but I'm thinking about switching to 5W-30 since this will only be a summer car for me.

ive used the 0w-20 for a while and have changed it 4 times in the last 11k miles and so far its been good. Before i track it ill probably change it, but i mean im not nurburgring-ing it as my daily driver so im not too worried about it and for MPG im getting around 27...barely with mostly city. But thats with ECU, exhaust, intake and stock tires...either way a lot better than the 18 i was getting before the BRZ

I'm getting 30.8 according to the computer. I'm at 1500 miles. What kind of milage are you expecting? Also, I did an oil change at 1300 with Eneos 0W-20. Got it at NAPA for ~$8/Quart.
damn 30.8! Do you downshift frequently? I unfortunately do...significantly. Even when slowing down ill double clutch into each gear....mostly cause i like the sound of my exhaust lol...either way. Did you notice a MPG increase with that oil?

I'm usually under 4k rpm when not driving aggressively. I also find that you don't need a lot of revs to drive this car quickly in the city. It really is all about conservation of momentum and weight transfer.

If anything, after i changed the oil, the milage just stopped increasing. That may also just be it settling at my true average mpq.

Also I doing an oil change Monday should be 1.5K miles what oil are you guys using?
I am averaging maybe 26 overall which is very good for how hard I drive the car. I recently swapped my oil out to Motul 8100 and the engine and mileage seems to be going pretty well. Have you noticed any other symptoms other then bad mileage?

When you get it we need to meet up. I provide the paint that goes on the electrocoat layer for Tesla and my group at BASF support their operations. Their plant in California is beautiful. Good group of guys out there. Would love to see their handy work again. It is cool to see their products being bought and used, for a while it was hit or miss whether they were going to make it.

On a side note I am already scoping out the next vehicle for the next year or two. I have looked at the American sports cars but their big engines mean I will be filling up with gas every other mile and their mainly straight line monsters. Two cars that I keep coming back to is either a Porsche Cayman or a BMW M3, obviously either of these two would be used. Not going to take the hit on a new one.

I think the Cayman embodies more of what the FRS tries to do and to be honest I think this would be my top choice. I know cost of ownership would be higher with either of these cars. I would be look at models that are anywhere from 5 to 1 year old. Any thoughts on these cars or other ones I should consider, I want to go up in power from the FRS. (NOTE: Have not proofread this so grammar may be bad!)

Honestly my e46 M3 was one of the best cars I've owned. Although I've been looking at you can get a used e60 M5 for like 27k now. Hard to justify not getting one of those now. Even the E92 M3 are in a good price range too now

I am not a big fan of the Miata body style. I guess I will have to see what the next gen looks like.

I have also kicked around a 370Z they seem to be similar but with more power and amenities. This wouldn't be for a year or two mind you. I have always heard great things from the BMW line, but has anyone heard anything on the Porsche Cayman's and Cayman S?
