Its going to take awhile for them to be everywhere...There will only be like 3k to 5k per year for each the BRZ and the FRS, possibly world wide. Unless the factory is going to make more. Think of selling more yearly units than the 370Z because of the much lower price. I think the 370 sales are around 10k to 12k per year.

Also if these cars are a success, Nissan, Honda, Mazda will come out with a new RWD coupe to compete...

imo its not going to be everywhere. i think a lot of people will walk up to it, and realize just how small the car is in real life, and then turn around and walk away...

Is this a subtle dig to Scion owners?

Got it. I agree, the Scion lifestyle is a tad 'excessive' in some regions. I am definitely the rare exception to the nameplate that's on my car in the Twin Cities. One of 3 to autocross around here and only tC owner to have a nice harmony of parts instead of a look at me!!! part with garbage parts in conjunction.

I hear ya, I am a firm believer that some people need to seek professional help when modding cars

This. While I have no doubt, and do hope that it will be a popular car (aftermarket support, yay!!), I don't think it can be the "next civic", just by sheer numbers. Not even the Miata/MX-5 is the next civic.

FWIW I think it will float around the same as the Z and the MX5, 25-35k in it's first year (maybe the second as well depending on their ability to meet demand for the first year), and then level of to about 10-15k for the next couple years and then wind down to 5-10k the last year or two (I think they will have a longish cycle of 6-7 years or so for this car.

If this car will be the next Civic. I imagine it will be stolen as often as any other civic.
