Is there any car on the market that is as light as the 86, as fun to drive as the 86, has as much power as the Bmw 335i and Audi s4 (330hp) and has four doors and 5 seats?
4 doors, 5 seats, bigger engine, and as LIGHT as the 86? those don't match at all. I say if you have the money, get another car thats practical on the side, if not, just buy some sort of used car that's for your practical use. Definitely won't be finding something like that in the market. Maybe a porsche Panamera lol

The additional seats and doors have added the overall weight. I second that, Porsche Panamera.

When I first made my purchase (scion fr-s, no the gt-86... we're cursed with the scion over here), I too started worrying that I made the "wrong decision" in buying this car. I was always a huge v8 lover, and was a number cruncher. I'd spend my free time trying to figure out how much faster x car would be at x track, and so on.

So, I had a little bit of a worry in the back of my mind that I made the wrong choice. After seeing all these videos of the v6 mustang beating the fr-s around the track, the focus st beating it, etc. I could feel my ego being threatened .

But then I figured - if I sold this car I would regret it so much later down the ride! No other car I've been in has put this huge of a smile on my face, each and every time I drive it. Who cares if its "underpowered"? Not only that, but when I pay off the car I'll be able to start putting money towards forced induction and making this car faster.

So, I guess it all comes down to - what do you want? Do you like the car? Do you see yourself enjoying the car for years to come? Do you get up on a saturday and want to take the car out for a nice drive through the canyons? Does it put a smile on your face whenever you drive ite?

I answered yes to all the above questions, and obvsiously I've resolved this car is just perfect . I'll always have the chance to buy some beater v8 car in the future, but right now I'm just enjoying this wonderful car.

I think I'm going to go for a drive now, lol.

EDIT: If your talking about practicality - that makes sense. But it comes down to, is it livable with on a daily basis for your current lifestyle? Your girlfriend has her own gt-86, so why not just take both cars out wherever you go? That'd be driving in style . I wish my girlfriend wanted an fr-s, I'd buy another one, LOL.

You guys are talking into thin-air.

The OP posted in the technical section this morning about which header to buy with his current mods. Does that sounds like someone who's contemplating selling their car?

That's why we're trying to convince him to sell the car (w sarcasm voice).

TBH, every time I see these kind of thread, I try to answer that OP isn't looking to hear. 99% of the time, they have set their mind on the answer.

Hi everyone,

I am seriously considering selling my Toyota 86 now.

I am currently 27, work as a court prosecutor. I was recently divorced and have a 2 yr old girl, that i share joint custody. My first car was a 1999 DC2 Honda Integra Type R that i left stock and sold for a 2004 Toyota Celica. I had that car throughout my law degree at uni for about 5 years. Did some performance mods to it. Got married a yr after that. Sold the Celica, bought a brand new BMW x5. Then i bought a Lexus is350 for myself. Got divorced. Ex wife gave birth. Ex wife got the x5 in the divorce agreement, even though i paid for it all. Sold the is350, bought a 370z. Got into another relationship with a girl that has an orange Toyota 86. Sold the 370z. Bought a white Toyota 86.

Reasons i want to sell the 86:

- Lack of power, i am used to higher powered cars
- Practicality
- Considering a bmw 335i 4 door or audi s4

Reasons i dont want to sell the 86:

- I love the looks of the car
- ITS TOO FUN TO DRIVE!
- Fuel consumption
- My partner and i make a good couple

Any suggestions will be very helpful.
So you buy and sell a crap ton of cars, and don't list any real reasons for most of the transactions. I know guys that haveto have a different vehicle in the garage every 6 months, and they usually end up having to pay 3-5k per transaction, just on loss of resale value, needing to do missed maintenance, taxes, licensing, etc.

If you can afford that lifestyle and it is a very high priority for you to own and enjoy so many different cars, then fine, but don't ask around on the internet about it. It's the INTERNET. Come on man.

Responses you will get:
20% "No man, teh 86 is teh best car evarrr"
60% "wut? wtf are you doing LOL?"
20% completely unintelligible posts that everyone ignores.

Honestly you're going to do whatever the hell you want anyways, so why ask?

hey what if he's contemplating. I mean why not multi task and find out info instead of just lagging it and waiting for one post to finish first

If you don't intend to modify your FT86 then sell it. if power is what you need get out of this car quick. buy something else ( a genesis) drive that until make a version of Ft86 that has enough power to suit your needs. then trade the the genesis for new improved FT86. And then decided that its still not enough hp trade it in. Keep in mind all sale of sports car under Toyota name further supports reason to relaunch the Supra. So continue to do your part guy!

haha! like what most ppl say on here..its up to you...regardless of power wise...you can only go so "fast" before you get into trouble with the law and everyone is bound to the speed limits. Im not much for speed...yah sure you might get to McDonalds quicker than me in your Audi/BMW but i've fell in love of how the 86/FR-S looks like. I dont want to brag too much but we've all gotten good compliments/comments such as...What is that car? That's a sexy car! The 86/FR-S still turn heads!

Just my two cents!

OP, you should just E85, bolt-on, and tune your car. You've been debating with Zdan in the FRS/BRZ vs S2000 vs RX8 thread about how you can improve you trap time, etc. so I'm sure you're familiar with how much more power you can make in this car and keep it n/a.

Sounds like the OP is just in need of some attention. He wrote a cool story about his whole life, but his issues with the 86 boils down to what everyone already knows about the 86. I find it hard to believe that he bought the 86 and then realized that 200hp is not much.

I came from an Evo X and have regrets. Can't use the handling line on me either.
