I guess that's easier than explaining why you didn't know your car uses passive rear wheel steering.

I can't take anyone serious that takes an automatic version of this car out for a dealer test drive and then tries to review it as a sports car. It's like a 14 year old writing a guide about intimacy.
Bartle do.

* VTEC... yes, it has variable valve timing but not in the mold of VTEC or VVTL-i. the car is not a 0-60 or 1/4 mile car, that said it does need a more aggressive cam during straightline driving. meaning it could pull a little harder from 4k to 7k. why they chose not too, the S during mid-turn in 2nd gear under 6k can be quite a handful when the vtec engages under full throttle. of course it can be controlled with proper throttle application but the FRS/BRZ will not be handful even with all the aides off. *"experienced driver": its amazing how every reviewer from the UK to US has had nothing but great things to say about the car. i don't expect everyone to like it but the dynamics can be enjoyed by everyone who has an AP2 or 987C or both. you don't have to be a newbie to rwd to enjoy the car. "she said I should offer him a ride in mine to see what he's missing": the only thing your AP1 would have over this car is how it pulls from 6-9k which the FRS/BRZ can't match. dynamically the AP1 isn't light years ahead of the FRS/BRZ. its not like we are comparing an AP1 to rwd sports sedan or coupe. the FRS/BRZ is a true sports car. very rarely does a car company put this much thought and effort into one car that won't sell millions during its model life cycle. the engineering team that worked on the 2012 camry spent 10 months working on the car from start to finish, this car was 4+ years. in fact it reminds me of a car that took about as long to develop, which is....... Honda S2000.

Over the last year, I've driven several more examples and talked with many owners in our local community, all report similar results.I found Richard's choice of words quite fitting.

I think, bottom line, that this chassis just isn't for your driving style. There's nothing wrong with that; some drivers just do not work with some cars. |

I've never been a hater for this car, and I don't think the car is broken. I've been the only one in the local Subaru community that has constantly been attempting to get other members interested in it, I even designed BRZ T-shirt for my wife and I to wear to events (arriving in the S of course
). I'm simply attempting to point out its traits for others to observe and make their own opinion. Other's opinions are not going to change my opinion, and I don't expect anyone else to blindly accept my opinion. The hate that flows from this thread, that's what I don't get. Just because I have a negative opinion about a car's trait shouldn't send you owners into a fury. Its not to much to ask, to request a slightly more advanced technical discussion. Post what you think of the car, not what you think about what I think about the car.

Turn In Concepts has one for the 08+ Impreza rear, which I'm not sure how different it is on the 86. My google-fu is failing me and I cannot find their post on iwsti or Nasioc.

This tells us all we need to know. The point of a discussion is to have a conversation that might force everyone involved to reevaluate their opinion of whatever is being discussed. You are not willing to consider a change of opinion or thought.
Then why are you here posting this? Just to stand on your soap box and shout to the world what you think and ignoring all feedback? If that is what you are looking for, there are services designed for exactly that. Let me help you - http://www.twitter.com or http://www.blogger.com |

Posting your opinion about what my opinion is, is a waste of time and usually trolling. Posting your opinion on the subject at hand is what a discussion is. I don't listen to other's opinions about my opinions, I listen to their own opinions on the subject as well as technical proofs and explanations. I apologize if I didn't differentiate between the two. I also understand that difference between the two is largely ignored on many forums. Example: Telling me that what I felt about the experience was wrong and stupid, is childish. Providing your own experiences and trials, and how you felt about them contributes to the thread. Posting technical details and proof that other's experience or understanding was misunderstood is also productive. If I didn't understand what was happening, please explain it to me instead of just informing me that I'm retarded.
