Otherwise it's wonderful to have since my last car didn't have it and the 400+ mile highway drives could become a pain.
Never had an issue with it in my Corolla, Sienna, or FR-S. I have regularly set it for 120 kph which translates into 75 mph. I have also incremented it up from 65 - 75 mph and it has always done so without pause.

I've set my cruise control at up to 83 mph. No problem whatsoever

I consistently ended up 5-7mph over my set cruise point when going up hills at highway speeds. My '99 Civic SI, '02 Audi A4, and '08 Civic SI sedan never did this.

I called the dealership to mention a few things I want looked at at the next service, including the cruise control creep issue. I was told that's normal. Well that's just F'ing great. Piss poor performance with this item...

it's the same cruise control used in every Toyota/Lexus family of products.

Biggest problem with the cruise control is that you can't set it to anything over 90

Why would you want to set CC on this car anyways?? This car is meant to be driven not sit back and let the car drive you.

Exactly what kind of "spirited" driving, would you plan to do on I-95 driving 500 miles from Raleigh, NC to New York City?

Or how about Raleigh to Hilton Head Island (i see you live in Savannah). I-95 (and other interstates) in the southeast US are boring as all hell.

Live on an island, 140 miles and you're back where you started. We do have "interstates", that don't go interstate!
I used mine once, to test it out. I played with some other older cars ones and I was amused that the pedal doesn't move like older ones, seeing as its throttle by wire.

I'd chime in to add Subaru has a similar placement for the cruise control lever in my old Impreza.

The advantage from the manufacturer's perspective is that it's independent of the main stalk, making it modular (i.e. if they don't want to offer it like on the base model they don't have to use a different stalk), and it reduces complexity.

i guess if you make a 200+ mile trip once a month then yes it will be nice. but i love driving and acting / reacting to traffic. Again i havn't been driving that long (im 22) so i guess i still enjoy driving no mater what the interstate is. and im not going to set my cc at 80+ mph made that mistake once.

As noted before, it's been Toyota's standard placement for 15 years. Lots of pieces from the inside of this car are directly from the Toyota parts bin. It's part of the reason the car is so affordable.

My wife has a Scion xD, so now this cruise is totally 2nd nature to me and I use it often w/o thinking.

55 mph 2 lane hwy? Cruise. Long stretch of 40 mph road in town? Cruise. I seriously use CC anytime I'm going for longer than 3-4m on the same stretch of road. The fact that people *don't* use it on the freeway boggles my mind.

I can't think of a single thing I don't like or would complain about regarding the FR-S, but then again I knew what it was when I bought it. It's a "cheap" supercar compared to much of what's on the road, and I'm just jazzed I'm able to own one.
