Ask them to heat seal the bottom with a heat gun.. thats what my tinter done and I had no issues with peeling or bubbling.

took less than 2 hours, they did the 'sealing' with the heat gun for the window bits too. Cutting the tint around the brake light is just wrong....

Had mine done today, $180, took approx. 1 hour and 45 minutes and I watched the whole thing. The tinter didn't remove the parcel shelf, he had a tool which pushed the tint down behind the third brake light. So far so good

Exclamation 20% TINT

20% TINT
the most legal tint in aus is 35% visible light which makes little difference that you barely notice...
I got my gts 20% tinted for only $250 in parramatta, NSW! I never thought about the break light until this thread but he got passed that and even compensated for the door windows lowering and raising! whats even better, is its a high grade film which comes with a life time warranty, so theres no worries there

a little info on the 20% tint:
- when i first picked up my car, it looked like it was 5pm (when the sun was going down) at about 12pm! yet you will get used to it in less than a week of driving
- it keeps you and cabin cooler as less sun rays get in
- outside; people can only see silhouettes in the car, no faces when the sun is shining directly at the window. if its raining or its a dull day it looks pitch black from the outside
- when i reversed i had to put the windows down at night to see, but i replaced my reverse lights with the bright white ones (bought off ebay for $11!!) and now reverse is easy
- the most important question; yes the 20% is illegal, and yes if you drive like an idiot speeding, sliding, and weaving in/out traffic they will hate you and get you for every mod you have (like all cars), but if you drive safely and responsibly the cops wont care. I have been pulled over (went through a no right turn) and had 2 RBT's so far in the life of my 86, and nothing has happened (all 3 times the cop saw my windows when i put them down)

A side note (whilst on the topic of cops): last night a cop followed me from thornleigh to castle hill which i was dropping nuts about because my exhaust is about 100db! (LEGAL: 90DB)
i was trying to cruise with out drone but i couldnt and had a constant 4th gear low rev drone doing 60km! even though my car was vibrating like crazy and my twin blue tips drew more attention and hate than an auto 86 he still he didnt do anything!!!! WIN :happy0180:

Got mine done at Tint my Ride in Fairfield for $220, which included removing the dealer tint which was wasnt dark enough. I put on 15% ceramic tint imported from the US. He ordered it in, and i went to him 3 days later when the tint came and got it done. Didnt remove the 3rd brake light. He is very professional and good at what he does.

Ask for Pascal.

Was it a cop on a bike? A cop on a bike yesterday night about 11pm followed me from thornleigh all the way to eastwood. He didnt do anything. I thought i was getting done for my 15% tint, plus i think i was slightly over legal blood alcohol limit. So lucky...

Martin from Ground Zero Tint in Blacktown or Pascal from Tint Ur Ride in Fairfield.

Martin can do it for $160 for darkest legal. Pascal does it for $180 for any tint percentage.

Pascal did mine for $220 that included taking off the tint that came from the dealer which was 35%, and putting on 15% ceramic tint imported from the US, which apparently reflects more heat than carbon. And comes with a lifetime warranty.
