Not for legal road use (federally), but people do it all the time. The car CAN be taken by the government though. You can state register JDM cars in some states (Florida for example) however it's potentially risky.

Luckily the government only really targets skylines and other higher profile cars.

I highly doubt you will get a black market car that (fwiw isn't even out yet) into the US and you can thank Motorex for ruining chances of doing it

Yeah, switch all the badges, exterior accents like lights, maybe switch out the center console and there you go. If you were talking about the BRZ instead of the GT86/FRS i would understand but GT86 and FRS are essentially the same car under the same exact brand. Car isn't even out yet and people have found so much to cry about already it's ridiculous.

I've always been curious about this. In Mississippi where I live there are a TON of farmers that drive those tiny little Mitsubishi trucks/van things. Not much bigger than a golf cart really (I can't think of what you call them). But Some of them are only a few years old, they have license plates etc. - there's no way that they were crash tested or whatever it takes to legally bring them into the states. There are so many different ones.

On top of that, there are also a decent amount of Skylines (R32s/R33s) around here. They aren't fancy or fixed up, they're usually just regular ole GT-STs and what not. I don't know if Mississippi just doesn't really care enough to do anything about it or what. Any ideas?

Grey market Skylines (the feds find them they will be crushed, I guarantee it ) In all reality most skylines out there aren't legal

You are complaining about cosmetic and federal mandated changes which no car co. has control over.

People drive them all the time (still doesn't make the 100% legal) don't care what paperwork states. The US just did a big raid/act about this months ago.

Canada is different, as long as the car is over 15 years old you can import it over here and register and drive legally. That's why there are a bunch of R32s/R33s and RX7's, Supras, etc. that are all RHD.
