STi is almost a given. manufacturers do things for a reason and debuting the STi in North America was to make a point.

But as far as the 86 goes, it been in development for 5yrs so its had a good shakedown. i wouldnt worry about 1yr problems. more like 1st yr envy when they start adding new models/features. but then again are you willing to pay ALOT more for the STi?

Yeah, I plan to just buy it now and spend that STI cash on some nice wheels or something... anywho I would not, and am not worried about the power thing (I mean, thats why we even care about an STI model right?) I am sure we will see crazy things/engines in this car. And those will prolly be cheaper and out perform anything you can buy at a dealer...

Since I don't think I'll ever care to pay that much for a turbo version, 1st gen doesn't bother me at all. And I like to think that a NA might be more reliable than a force-induced one.

Not worried about bugs and what not. This car isnt going anywhere guys. No rush for me to buy first gen which means I can wait and see if there is going to be an STI available. Then theres the debate of whether or not the STI is worth the extra money. Those of you who need or want the car spring 2012. Go for it... I wouldnt be worried about bugs and what not. Subaru makes a great product. I have learned my lesson and purchasing a vehicle is something that you shouldnt be rushed into buying or even scared of buying. Need 100% confidence!

Gonna go first gen because I am impatiently waiting to get this car. But yes I do know that I will be mad when toyobaru officially announce a Forced induction version. But hey. you cant have everything in life. So I'll just go first gen and upgrade(more power/big brakes all that) it over time. I'll make mine better than the next model they release.

I am not in a position to buy a car or anything, but I have a strong feeling this car will get better and better and competitors will possibly appear in the market, so I doubt I'll ever touch a first gen. As far as the car itself goes it's really quite good, but there are things they can do to improve it still and I like perfection

Whether or not I even buy this car is based on what Mazda and Alfa Romeo announce in the time leading up to it going on sale. Also depends on what Subaru says about the next WRX.

I'm keeping my options open.

If you like it and want it, buy it. Don't wait for what might come to be years from now, because you will have lost all that time twiddling your thumbs.

i wouldn't be too worried about this you have to remember now that toyota has badged this as a scion and if any of the other 4 scions are an example there wont be any huge modifications power wise to the car. subaru can say they want to but i don't think toyota would let them do anything huge.

if you are worried about huge changes just think of how much time and money went in to making the car as it is and if subaru is prepared to call this a "zenith" i doubt they will say while this was our zenith this is our new zenith after a few short years.

Look up the difference between an '08 and '09 WRX, who wouldn't be envious of a later model.

The joke implies much greater things to come.

Exactly. I can always trade it in to get a newer one if I want.

On the flip side if the STI does come out and it's turbo then I'll be more than happy with my underpowered NA BRZ.
