Agreed!

Look up Escort Maxi for details.

The only production turbocharged Escorts (in Europe) were the Mk3/4 RS Turbos (fwd) and the Escort Cosworth (4wd).

Ford RS200 was and still is a beast. So sad it's life in Group B was so short-lived. Bold to have the engine sitting in the middle on a rally car.

Too bad the price for a used one is still in the low six-digit-figure range.

Honestly I find the torque steer the Speed3 very manageable. But yeah, I would still take RWD.

That's great, but an RS2000 is not an RS200.

Doesn't the ECU limit torque output in 1st and 2nd gears? Doesn't sound that great to me

Not sure, but there is definitely plenty of torque. The Speed3 is a pretty fun car to drive. I almost bought one, but at the end of the day the styling (interior/exterior) was a turnoff to me, and I wanted RWD.

I do find the 4 door hatchback with 4 real useable seats in the back to be a big plus though...

Yes, to give you the best experience whilst keeping the drivetrain in one piece.

Dunno if anyone mentioned it, but the last generation of Focus RS sold for $38,000+ in the Euro market.

My old civic kills my FRS hands down in straights and I was setting it up for track. Full suspension, greddy turbo kit 95 coupe. Super stiff in the back soft up front 225s all around. Thing halled ass but no replacement for RWD fun.

Are you talking about the RS500? That basically has the Mountune stage 1 kit on it to take it up from the stock 300ps.
