Lol, maybe second language for him?

Just doesn't seem to make sense if someone wants a BRZ front bumper on a FR-S...unless he wants people to think he has the "Limited" model...

The FR-S is both cheaper and easier to come by than the BRZ (it's also harder for dealerships to mark up the Scion than it is for the Subaru). If I wasn't able to get my BRZ when I did I would have gotten the FR-S and did the BRZ front end swap, since I actually prefer the Subaru's looks.

Fair enough; but I think this phrase has got me believing that he wants to swap a FR-S bumper end onto a BRZ.

Personally, if you gave me a choice...the Toyota 86/GT86 or the Subaru BRZ...I would of chosen the Toyota, no hesitation. I honestly like the Toyota's front bumper just a little bit more.

Sorry guys for the hastily written original post. It definitely was not as clear as it could be. Didn't imagine there'd be so many posts in a such a small period of time as well, haha.

Basically what I'd like is:
- BRZ provides the main platform.
- FRS front end onto the BRZ.

As one of the other respondents said, I do like the BRZ Limited interior, HID etc, but prefer the front end of the FRS.

Most of the other posts about this topic just refer to swapping the front bumper but I realize it's more than that since many of the associated parts are different.

I'm thinking the same as well. I like the 86 front bumper but love the interior of my BRZ Limited.

Sourcing and retrofitting so the foglights and DRL would fit is going to be tough, unless you're good with customizing parts (making it actually look good).

If I were to do this I'd want to do it right. Less about retrofitting and more about sourcing the actual components/pieces from the FRS to put onto the BRZ.

I guess I'm wondering what doing it "right" would cost. $2K? More? Guess it's something that's been talked about but no one has really tried yet.

Sorry...what is a DRL?

It's easy to find parts for the FR-S, but trying to fit the DRL (Daytime Running Lights, the LED strip that lights on when you disengage the park brake on the BRZ) and fog lights into the same surround the FR-S uses might be a problem. Oh and then you would also need to cover up that unused turn signal space where the FR-S would have.

Who knows, maybe a vendor may be able to replicate the parts/bumper and mold it to fit "perfectly" Until then, we'll have to cut things up ourselves to make things fit.

I too like the FRS/86 front bumper better than the BRZ's. But I LOVE the BRZ's headlights better than any of the others. I could care less about fog lights, so my preference would be to take my BRZ (if SOA ever delivers it!) and put on an FRS bumper. hopefully someone will make a replacement for the FRS turn signal "housing" that accommodates the BRZ's LED DRLs instead of turn signals/fog lights.

Should have my BRZ in 2-3 weeks so I'm resurfacing all my old threads. I'd still like to do this, does anyone know how much the front bumper on the FR-S costs? I know there are other items associated with it but knowing that cost will at least set the stage of what might be involved.

Okay looks like its 52119A which according to this site is $295.89.
http://www.villagescionparts.com/pro...U00301484.html

That seems really cheap but if it's accurate, then I think I'm definitely doing this as soon as I get my car.

I have my car now but have not done this and don't plan to in the near future.

Now that I have my car, I'm kinda getting used to the front end and it doesn't bother me as much.

I may still do it in the future, just not doing it as soon as I thought I would.

Although there are tons of threads with this topic, I have only read of one person to actually do the swap. I am sure there are others, I just have yet to find anything.
