tires are probably the absolute weakest link on our car bc of the Prius tires. $800 for some better tires thatll definitly grip way better and it doesnt void warranty, is a good and under-rated option. Personally I'd go w/ catted header to eliminate the tq dip.

A bad mod/dollar is the AFE takeda intake. I purchased it for 250 brand new from a guy at a local BRZ meet. Installed it. It gave more low end torque but the torque dip is way way way more I can't wait to get my Perrin headerback and stage 2 tune after my first service. I kinda regret buying the intake over a K&N drop in filter that adds 5hp for $45, when the AFE takeda probably adds 7hp untuned for $250.

Best mod/dollar is the whiteline brace and perrin bushings. For 80 bucks, you get a solid, firm, nice, positive shift experience. It's so rewarding and brings on so many endorphines when you drive.

Concur, but you don't get the nice cool sound with the KN drop in
So you pay an additional $300 for 2 more HP and the sound

Thats why i need the tune Apparently the word is that Stage 2 FA20club tune responds the best with the AFE intake over the other intakes on the market.

Yep, once power adder mods are complete, stage 2 tune will finalize it. Then onto suspension.

True that

What suspension mods are you doing?

And you putting on semi slick tires to make use of the extra horsepower?

I actually went springs first since they were under $200. Had to get rid of the 4x4 look. After I finish up the header back setup and rear end swap, I may pick out a set of coilovers if I don't go the Koni route.

Doesn't the springs shorten the life of the standard shocks? Like i heard that lowering it 1.5 inches will make the shocks blow in a couple of thousands miles.

Borla UEL HEADER; excellent sound & performance upgrade; definitely worth the money spent! (if you were lucky to have second batch/ flat flanges =p)

I have several thousand miles on mine with no issues, but my intent was to change out the shocks for Koni's or move on to coilovers at a later date. So, blowing out my shocks was not an issue or concern for me anyways. If that makes any sense.
