I'm new here and would like to introduce myself. I'm Kevin from Hong Kong and I just completed my full TRD FT-86 about a month ago (Pictures will be available soon).

I recently went on a drive with a bunch of my friends and was amazed by an exhaust system one of my friends bought for his LP-560-4 by Kreissieg. For those who don't know know Kreissieg, they are a company who make high quality F1 sounding exhaust systems for high end vehicles.

Anyways, I contacted them and asked whether they would make a one-off system for my FT-86. After a few days they emailed me back and said that it was possible but it would cost around 4500 USD (Approx. 35,000 HKD). In comparison, the exhaust system my friend bought cost 7000 USD.

I've been contemplating for quite a few days because I've always wanted to keep my FT-86 a full TRD one. But the sound Kreissieg makes is just orgasmic. Any opinions/ideas are welcome. Thank you very much for your help guys!

if you have the money i don't see why not... I'm curious as to how it will sound as well

just get it.. in our country cars like 86 (FR-S) and BRZ costs a stratospheric price tag (mine is around 70000 USD = 630 million IDR) so getting a 4.5k exhaust is not much for you (but not me...)

and also i was asking them too because they have a dealer here.. but i'm sure i can't afford it.. its just too much..

The dealer here is selling the car as Toyota 86.
However I got the vehicle registration card from them showing FT-86

Anyway, back to topic. Get the exhaust please! I would like to hear F1 sound coming from the car !

Far be it from me to tell someone with the means to not spend $4000USD on an exhaust.

Just please, please, please share a video with us when its installed!

BTW, since you're in HK, would you happen to know if Bull Dogs or The Kangaroo Pub is still open in Kowloon? They used to be some of my regular hangouts in HK in a "previous life" many years ago!

Doesn't matter what you buy, you will not get the sound of a high revving V8 or V10 or V12. Also it's not only about the number of cylinder, a Lambo V10 will sound more exotic than the V10 found in the M5 because the Lambo is mid engine, the exhaust pipes are short and it has sound that only a mid or rear engine can produce

the vw vr motor is one of the best sounding engines in a car under <$100k ever made. I comes the the extremely narrow 15* angle on the V setup resulting in a single head, almost like a an inline 6 but offset. this offset results in the exhaust runners in the head being a different length on 3 cylinders. Needless to say, it always sounds beautiful

no im not biased

i would be much interested if a Kreissieg made FA20 sound like a growling GT3RS

$4k? So basically makes it sound "better", costs about 1/5th of the car, and probably makes the same hp as other applications? Yep, I see the logic there.
