One can only hope it moves past the prototype phase (I've been hearing about the nuvinci supercharger since 2008)

Some of the news re VW development of electric turbos is interesting. Hopefully someone develops an electric supercharger so we don't have these HP losses.

May also have the benefit of easily switching it off when not required for better fuel economy.

Typical VW over-engineering, interesting though.

This thread give me hope to the super charger. They came out not showing much for HP gain. I will most likely be getting a similar setup to this one. What would 700cc injectors do tho?

700cc are good enough to run E85 as long as you don't ever plan to go crazy 25+ psi.

@skatery1989

how do you feel about the reliability of your setup. I am really impressed with your setup but I don't want to run out and blow my engine and money trying to get the same numbers as you.

Nice numbers! I don't see anything wrong here, even at 250whp there is a lot of supporting stuff that needs done to actually utilize it to its full potential.

Regarding electric turbos (I did not read about them) wouldn't the bigger alternator required by the heavier electrical draw count as a parasitic loss compared to a system that uses waste energy that was just going out the tailpipe?
Oh, nice numbers by the way.
Knowing that straight pump gas would produce less power than E85, would it at least produce a similar linear, dip free curve?

Typically it'd be used like nitrous for bursts of boost not constant power. You'd used a bit bigger alternator then a storage medium (batteries capacitor etc)

I happy with everything. The only thing I am watching right now is the clutch but so far it is holding up fine. Eventually ill look at start replacing so internal parts.
