Thanks. We agree, and that's why we like tuning with WMI. There are a lot more people without readily accessible (us included) E85 than there are people with.

With that said, an E85 tune will happen for us as soon as we're satisfied with our WMI testing.

It'd be interesting to see what you can get out of it without the WMI on pump fuel.

Did you miss the 6 psi and 9 psi plots? 317 whp was the max on pump. They mentioned being timing limited.

Then they added WMI and got 345 whp @ 11.5 psi. Now they are at 388 whp at 14 psi.

Looks like they were able to find more power with tuning as they thought they were maxed out at 345 whp a week or two ago...

- Car was tuned at 11.5 psi with a compromise between boost, timing, and AFR to keep the engine happy. We're basically ignition timing limited at these power levels, even with the WMI. While we could run more boost and make some more power, we felt that this was a good stopping point for the current set-up on the stock compression engine.
Nice work! Tasty!

Thanks! We replaced the exhaust manifold gaskets with new OEM ones and are now using a larger WMI nozzle too. The engine is much happier now as evidenced by the new found power, ability to run more boost, and most importantly, a lot more timing.

Yes, it would be nice to see the plateau go away. Does this have anything to do with the bigger turbo or possibly the long intake tract or is it just a matter of tuning?

not sure if this has already been posted, but for those of you curious about how WMI works, check out this video from AEM:

I thought that was a joke at first too, even googled it to find quite a few other WMI sources claiming the same thing (valves, valve seats and piston tops anyway)

Ok so I know I said I would post this later this evening but I happen to have a pic on my phone of one of my 400whp engines that has been running 20+psi from a Mitsubishi super 20G hybrid and water/methanol for the past 70k+ miles. I built this engine in 2007 and what you are looking at are forged flat top Wiseco pistons with a CR of 10:1. This is what it looked like about a year ago (5 years later) after pulling the head to replace a head gasket that had literally the tiniest coolant leak ever in cylinder #4 (hence the reason it is slightly cleaner than the other 3 piston surfaces). They look damn near new still. I just happen to notice a tiny droplet of water sitting on the cylinder wall while doing a visual inspection via scope. Any little problems drive me nuts because I am a perfectionist so off the head came. I snapped this picture because every time I see how clean everything is from a WMI system it always makes me smile.

@ptuning

so has there been work towards making this kit for a AT? If you need a AT I would definitely be interested.

Also, you being in VA, would this set up be able to pass VA state inspection as far as emissions and whatever?

We'll certainly look into an automatic version as soon as we release our manual version. We'll keep you in mind too when we're ready to start prototyping. VA emissions should not be an issue. Thanks.
