with e70/coldair/catless front pipe/extra passenger and about 40lbs in my trunk i was able to do 0-60 5.9 and a 1/8 mile in 9.1 according to torque. without the extra weight i think i can do 5.6 sec and i believe the coldair plays a part in the times

What is this application?

“I would like to clarify the numbers posted. Those gains are PEAK gains. Which are seen mainly at HIGH rpm’s! Around 6750rpm. If you really want to drive your FR-S @ 6750rpm all day long to achieve those PEAK gains then go right ahead! The Weapon-R intake is the Highest Horsepower in the 5500-6000rpm, second highest 4500-5000rpm, second highest 4000-4500rpm, and adds power from*3500-6500*rpm”

This was taken out of DSPORT magazine...

OK so a few questions for those that have this issue or web access...

1. Was this on the stock tune?
2. was the ecu reset for each of the intakes?
3. did they show AFR plot for any of the intakes?
4. Did they show any logs of long term fuel trims?

Over all, i have been far less than impressed with their testing methodology starting with the catback exhausts, trend continues here. Seem to me like they really don't know what they are doing, as brash as that sounds. The only real way to test the intakes and see which truly is best is to use a rom file that has the IAM set to 1.0 and the long term trims turned off. Then just leave the car on the dyno, swap intakes get the car up toe the test temps make 3 pulls, lather rinse repeat. Depending on the fuel they have, they may need to pull a little timing for the sake of tune consistency.

As it is, they only present half the data, at least with the exhausts maybee they did a better job this time but i don't have the full article to know for sure.

Every intake dyno I've seen that makes power also had leaner AFR's.

I would guess these do nothing after a tune over a stock car tuned for the same afr's.

The only benefit i could see would be after a full exhaust and headers when the car may need that little added airflow.
I bought a panel filter so i could clean it and sounds a bit better. (very dusty in the desert)

BooHoo, no PERRIN in the test. I guess they don't want us back since we did pretty good in the Exhaust test in an earlier issue.

Sorry for the old post bump.

Your intake is extremely awesome. I have no regrets at all. I can't wait to get it tuned to see how it really performs. Without a tune, there is no bog whatsoever, it screams without a noise generator, and there definitely is a small power gain. Aesthetically, its probably the best looking intake there is.

Sorry for the old post bump.
Or one of their Vendors that is paying them more doesn't

I dont see why doing good at one test would cause you to be excluded from the next.

Does Dsport sell anything or only add space in their Mag?
