I say KN Filter combined with Perrin Intake Tube would be worth under $200 for more gain than most intake systems. Can't believe the KN Filter almost out performed all the other intake systems.

The K&N filter didn't out perform much. It was only 4th from the bottom? It gave some of the least IMO.

That was the intake not the filter.

How much faster will you be at track? maybe 0.00001 second if you don't make a driving mistake that make you loose a full second.

I don't get why there's a lot of hate on intakes. No one is forcing you to buy one. If gains and bang-for-your-buck are all you care about, get a drop in. If you want gains and some sound, get an intake.

A $5,000 Rolex does the same thing a $20 watch does. If you can afford it, good for you. If not, don't hate on those who can.

i agree. I have an coldair and i love it. on e70 my best 0-60 was only 6.0 secs.[ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wPj_mz3enwo"]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wPj_mz3enwo[/ame]

with e70/coldair/catless front pipe/extra passenger and about 40lbs in my trunk i was able to do 0-60 5.9 and a 1/8 mile in 9.1 according to torque. without the extra weight i think i can do 5.6 sec and i believe the coldair plays a part in the times

i dunno if im going crazy or stupid but anyone notice when they provided the dyno graph of the takeda it produced max 182.59 WHP over OEM intake of 176.23 WHP.

Now when you compare and watch the BLITZ PANEL FILTER dyno graph, it says 178.67WHP and then advises its a +6.1 WHP GAIN. How is 178.67 a +6.1WHP gain over 176.23 WHP?

This just goes to show that paying extra for all these intakes is worthless. The only thing that makes a real difference is the actual filter and its media and as you can see the design of the box itself plays very little part in the overall outcome.

if u pay close attention to the videos not all oem benchmarks were the same. if u look at hks the stock hp was 174.69 not 176.23..so i think for the filters they did them on another day and got a different stock benchmark for that day

Hey you sold me one of these worthless intakes (aFe Takeda)!!

LOL, I hear ya though, it's all good - I wanted the sound more than anything at the time. Going to lose it soon anyway as I'm going FI.

They probably take a OEM baseline before each test to minimize the variances from running tests at different times. You can dyno your car each week and see gains and losses within the margin of error, but you should hopefully expect consistent gain (or loss I guess) when comparing a baseline OEM to a modified one done close together.
