Gonna have all that deployment money saved up. I used to be your mortal enemy in the Army haha Cav scout although I never had any beef with the infantry guys we used to always give each other crap. I've got a few friends over in trashcanistan now with the 3ID.

Damn. Yeah I don't think I would pass sound, but I haven't tested my WRX since I've owned it, minus the dB test they did at the Street Car Shootout which I came in at 91dB.

I think you might be alright the limit is 94 so you should pass as long as you don't hang 1st gear.

Anyone know of a good wheel repair place? I'd like to get all of my wheels reconditioned and free of curb rash.

The sound limit is 94 decibels, and AMP certifies cars in a sound check. It is in 2nd gear WOT. I am bringing my oem muffler just in case I need it.

an addtl +5db would be very helpful, some modern OEM Porsches dont make it under 94db without modification.

In addition, the road course is further away from the sound metering device (on the skidpad) so this shouldnt be as tricky as it was last time we ran out there.

EDIT: Kevin if we have a valid inspection sticker from earlier this season, there is no need for a retest, right?

They have a city sound meter on the 2nd long straight as well as the skid pad and as long as you didn't change anything your sticker is still good. Unless you just want to go around the track again they will let you test again just for fun.

Edit: And for those worried about going into the dirt I drove past the other day and they treated the sides again so that dirt is as hard as concrete and you will not sink into it breaking anything. This is the one track were going off will most likely only get your car dirty and not destroy your alignment from soft sand abruptly stopping you.

Additionally, the autocross will be held on the half of the road course that doesn't have the sound meter, so you'd have to try pretty hard to trigger it.

If they leave the S turn alone right before the main straight I will be in heaven!!! That is my favorite part of amp and it is a little off camber and tricky to get around smoothly but once you do you feel awesome about it. I doubt they will because of all the people that spin out there but it would be awesome.
