was a blast man thanks allot for posting up the invite. I felt very safe in all circumstances even though it was my first lapping day event. the rules were pretty reasonable except for when you got behind the really bad drivers with high HP cars... not allowed to pass on the corners and when you got to a straight the frs couldnt quite compete.... oh well it was allot of fun and i look forward to making the trip for some other events!

Yea i know, sometimes you will get some drivers like that. They think they God with expensibe cars. I only managed the push the CLS AMG off the track, the M3 and GTR somwhow survived so i just went back into the pit and exit again half a lap away from them.

I have awesome footage of a black STi spinning out on turn 11l, will post later. Despite those rich fucks, it was still a good time with perfect weather. Set my tire pressured too high initially and spun out once, but after adjusting them, funcheung's old ad08s held up pretty well! Lol

even with the stock tires i had very little issues. my biggest problem was on lap 3 my brakes went soft on me and after that I didn't have as big of a loss in braking power but didn't really have the confidence to string many laps together. all i need is to lose braking power while behind someone haha.

Imo, braking is da hardest thing to perfect....u needa be able to determine how much speed uneed to slow down and minimize the duration of the braking by braking hard and letting off..to minimize the amount of heat generated......i still havent gotten that down yet.

Had a great time, shannonville is a very familiar track to me, and other than a few bushing upgrades and some track rated pads the car is stock. Worked very well, managed to turn a 2:16 which I think is respectable considering its the first time I've had the frs on track, and stock tires. Looking forward to getting it out again soon!!!

2:13.06 for me...second time tracking at shanny and first time driving on these tires will need some more seat time to get use to their grip characteristics. Same with the brake pads...when warmed up, carbotechs are awesome and I could probably have gotten away with braking later and harder, but didn't have the confidence to do so.

how were you guys recording your lap times?

Harry's Lap Timer app for iPhone. Uses GPS and preset POIs; has almost every track in the world, just load up the track and drive.

It also makes use of your phone's accelerometer to record g force and tracks max speed through corners and on straights. You can then overlay the metadata onto gopro videos or use their built in video recorder and record with your phone.
